CJ-3B Break over angle...A new perspective.

Good Morning,
From my penthouse 5th floor at about 6;50 am, heard a loud THUD followed by screeching and a mix of metallic sounds.

This is what I saw and wanted to share with you.

This 3B has been used by its owner daily for work, a 65 year old man.
Never seen it have any problem start or run since I moved here about 2 years back. It has a diesel under the hood. A pure NO FANCY daily use vehicle.

A truck carrying sand for construction nearby, tried to squeeze through two jeeps, but ended up taking the 3B under its left front wheel and sandwiching it between the building and itself, the drag distance by the tyre marks...looks like the driver lost control as the braking efficiency goes down with this very heavy loads.

In the future I might upload pics. of this Jeep restored. Meanwhile visit this thread again for shots of the same from ground level.

It is sad but many of you may never have seen an active 3B accidented, this is my first too.

All pics shot with 400mm zoom except last one.
Regards,

Cj

Hi Fazal,

It looks like a CJ500D to me.

See the space in front of the rear wheel arch.

Regards,

Arka

Hi Arka,
You could be very correct, earlier I had seen an extension in the floor behind the drivers and front passengers seat and though the length was extended by 6-8 inches on a 3B.

It seems the truck brakes failed and he used this Jeep as a buffer, as a result... drove it up the wall about 7 feet high after breaking the fence and wall.

And I was expecting something entirely different after reading the thread title! Gosh, the CJ looks terrible...the frame & rear body severely damaged. But as they say with a Jeep, anythings fixable if you want it bad enough.

I bet he doesn't have insurance coverage that's heavy enough to pay for the repair. But hey, look at the positive side. No one was hurt, and seeing all that rust, I guess she needed a visit to the local body shop.
