Glad about your recovery. Reminds me of the Activa accident that happened to me December last. I took my eyes off the road for a second ( NH 4 ) between KR Puram and Hoskote only to see that it had started moving towards the side of the road full of sharp stones and gravel. I had a second to decide if I should apply the brakes or swerve out of it : I decided to brake and off it went sliding a few metres on the sharp stones and gravel. I below and the Activa over me. Broken bones in the legs and hands, Near complete tear of my ACL, damaged mensici et al and 10 weeks lost on the bed. Take care bikers, be safe.

Re: Near Death Past Experience: Broke my Spine!!

John, that was a miracle as you rightly said, to survive a spinal injury and recover from it and walk normally again.

My best wishes to you for a healthy and happy life ahead and hats off to your courage and determination to overcome the odds. Live it up.

We not only take out life for granted but sometimes put others life in danger too. Accidents happen but we must ensure that it is not our fault. We are at a loss no matter whose fault it is. Least we can do is reduce the chances of this loss by not taking any chances on the road.
You guys did your bit by sharing your experiences. It is now upto us how we take it!

This reminds me when I fell from Scooty for the first time in life and got Muscle Tendon tear. The pain and inconvenience that happnes post accident teaches us a lesson to drive and ride safe.
We understand how much you have suffered and the pain you felt. Hope you recover fully ASAP and forget the pain you suffered previously. May God bless.

Re: Near Death Past Experience: Broke my Spine!!

God bless you John. Good that you are normal now. Getting back from spinal injury is not ease, i feel the pain reading your post. Takecare, God is with you for sure.

I wish every biker should read this thread and understand what a simple skid can leads to, then they can understand what rash driving in public roads can leads to.

Re: Near Death Past Experience: Broke my Spine!!

All the best for a full recovery. You will need to be extra careful re ur back & exercise it to slowly build up strength(will take 3-4 years but do not despair). Look for a good physical instructor or doctor specialising in Sports medicine.
