Guys,

This happened when i was driving back from whitefield through kormangala few days back.

i see this stack of alloys on the footpath> for sale ??

Just check the pictures i have attached & let me know whats happening?

i couldn't stop to enquire, since i was in great hurry to meet one of my client.

i know the location of this place. anybody wants to know ?

Have they been stocked outside the shop for display purposes? Perhaps some renovation etc going on in the shop? Or the shop behind is into some other business? Never seen alloys being sold on the roadside.

I know this place, this is on the 8th Main, just before cakewalk

I think these are the tyres this guy has repaired, as I stopped and inquired with him. He said that these are the tyres given for repairing and the customers come and collect it by evening. there is a puncture repair shop there

The way these alloys are displayed does force me to think that these are for sale.

Let me add more confusion.

Why don't they repair tyres that are fitted on to steel rims?

By tyre, he must have meant alloys. Cracked, bent ect..

Its definitely a display for sale. Nobody stocks repaired tyres to catch sun, air or dust!

Nopes these alloys are for sale and these guys pick it from Shivaji Nagar.I used to stay behind this shop earlier and used to take my bike for punture repairs here.According to this chap these alloys come from accidental vehicles and some people trade off their old alloys for new ones and these guys re-chrome/refurbish them and put them on sale.
Stolen or not, these alloys come comparatively cheaper than the ones available at Sprokets and all.I am not very sure about the reliability and make of these alloys.
Though I remember seeing some familiar brands like Aura and Plati.

These type of road side vendors are very common in NCR. Most of them (not all) are stolen. Rates of these alloys varies according to their brand. Haven't done any dealing with them but one can negotiate with these vendors very easily. It will be a good deal, if you want to keep changing the alloys of your car every year.

Actually, I have come acrss several road side shops like this. I have seen quite a lot of these shops in and around Delhi NCR as well and several in Gurgaon also.

No idea about the source at all

My friend once, picked up a set of alloys from a guy who stacked them in a similar fashion at a fuel stop. Some fuel stop on NH8 Gurgaon, after taking a right from Signature towers. He picked up 4 swell 14 inch alloys and 4 tyres for 16K.

This guy has been there for quite a while. I live in Koramangla and have seen him for at least a couple of years now.
I don't think they are stolen, just refurbished second hand alloys. Good bargains if you are inclined.

This is next to Ooty chocolates right ? i daily pick up my wife in front of this shop.Its basically a small shop adjacent to the displays where he repairs punctured tyres.I dont know whether they are for sale or owners collect them but yes you are right , on any day you will find plenty of alloys on display :-)

It looks like the place next to ooty chocolates In Koramangala. These are not repaired one and they are up for sale. Once I enquired with him and came to know that he doesn't have pairs with him and only single single piece of each type is available, Which Indicates that they are stolen ones. Most of them are of SUVs.

I have seen these type of alloys aligned for sale near Canara bank bus stop in Koromangala. And few places of this kind are there in the road from Banashankari to Mysore road. I never enquired anything with those guys.
