Rolls-Royce, the well-known British luxury auto maker owned by BMW, is planning to unveil its Phantom Series II model in the Indian market on September 21, 2012. The model is known to be a technological marvel, perfectly blended with state-of-the-art comforts and luxuries. The new model is an impression of the company's contemporary designing language, which will once again redefine the standards of luxuries and technological advancements in the auto industry, as the other previous models have done.

The engine featured in the Phantom Series II model is believed to be counted among the company's finest inventions in its glorious history.

Coming to the cosmetic changes, the face of the model has a new grille, made using single piece of stainless steel. The bumpers of Phantom Series II have also been refreshed, adding to its overall character. The interiors will also be having some changes, which are believed to be made as an India-specific model. The changes include a reworked dashboard with new accessories, a bigger LCD display with Multi-Information Display (MID) and the iDrive system of BMW, and many more. The inner cabin of Phantom Series II is brilliantly designed by a mixture of chrome, wood and leather, which is sure to lure the hearts of Indian buyers.

Re: Rolls Royce Phantom Series II Launched @ Rs.4.50 Crores to Rs.5.10 Crores

The Phantom will be available in four variants—
The Phantom,
The Phantom Extended Wheelbase,
The Phantom Drophead Coupe and
The Phantom Coupe.

The Phantom Series II is powered by a hand-assembled 6.75-litre V12 engine which churns out 453 bhp at 5350 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 kmph) in about 5.7 seconds.

Among the new features that have been included in the Series II are new LED headlamps, a new grille made out of a single unit of stainless steel and a total redesign of the front and rear bumpers.

The coupe variant will be available in eight-nine months, and will be followed by the convertible, called the Drophead Coupe, said Sharad Kachalia, director, sales and marketing, Navnit Motors, the sole Rolls-Royce dealer in Mumbai.

The vehicle also features BMW’s iDrive system. Rolls Royce Motor Cars is a fully-owned subsidiary of BMW.

Rolls-Royce is one of the few manufacturers in the world to feature full-LED light clusters as standard across its Phantom range.

“The suspension has been enhanced for India, which will give additional comfort,” Mr Kachalia said.

“We send the car to the customer's place without knowing him…take his family for lunch or dinner. This kind of very small gathering of about 5-10 couples…we take them to a dinner place and give them a test ride, show them the car. These activities are quite successful,” he said.

The company may announce two more dealerships by the end of the year, said Herfried Hasenoehrl, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars general manager - emerging markets Asia.

“We are currently expanding. We are already at a certain stage. We will announce another expansion soon, closer to Mumbai, closer to Maharashtra, and possibly in Maharashtra as well, and also in the south,” he added.

While Mr. Hasenoehrl declined to give sales figures in India, he said “2010-11 saw a massive increase in volume. This was a record year, the best in history. And this year, we expect yet another record. And of course, if you are expecting a record worldwide, each and every market we are represented in, will also have to contribute to that”

Whoa! This is the pinnacle of automotive luxury.
I can buy a Toyota land cruiser + Audi A8L + Audi R8 in that amount for one Rolls Royce. Amazing.

Indeed a very good move by RR to launch the extended wheelbase edition. Anybody buying a Maybach 62 would definitely give a second thought. Still, pricing is a bit of concern

^^^ Is Mayback still available? No, if you are referring to factory made cars... yes if your are in second hand market, but, would you buy one.

I bet the choice for top class road travel are narrowing down few products from RR & Bentley. Hopefully there would be some good options in future from Bugatti & probably one or two more (Italians?!).

:Looks like you are mis informed. who told you that? The lamborghini aventador costs 4.7 cr (fully loaded) subtract 30 lacs for the customization. ex showroom mumbai. And add 18% road tax and 3 % insurance to it. It is the most costliest car to be launched in India yet. It comes down to 5.5 crores OTR for basic model. and 5.9 crores OTR for top end version. This the EXACT pricing i got directly from the dealer.

Wow! That's kissing the 6cr bracket, never expected such a hike from the Murcielago. IIRC, ecks’ LP640 was 3.65cr (fully loaded) and the LP670SV at the Delhi dealership was up for grabs at 4cr (maybe sold later with some discount).

The Murcielago has always been the most affordable hypercar, but Aventador surely has seated itself well within the hypercar territory, it seems.

You missed out the Conquest Evade

& Regarding the pricing of the Aventador, a cousin of mine went to the Delhi dealership recently when he was hunting for a supercar and to him the dealer quoted around 4.35 for the fully loaded Aventador. So with insurance and HR reg, it should be around 5cr max.

beats me - why do they have to call it series II ??

sounds koreanish to me - verna transform, sonata embera, galaxy sII - sIII !!

i feel they should have stuck to no name change - with the subtle changes in the car.

wehre? i dont see the dealerships of veyron and agera exclusively like the one i saw in mumbai of lamborghini bro.

more over, its not lamborghini which increased the price, but thanks to shitty UPA, the rupee has depreciated more than 14 rupees to a dollar after lp700 was launched in 2011. And the 20% increase in import duty. These two factors have resulted in the car costing 1 crore more. The lp700 is still the same price in other countries. India is the most costliest place for this beast.
