Lamborghini India launched the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster today. This open-top super sports car is priced at INR 4.77 crore.





High Points:

• The Roadster version is based on the Aventador coupe launched in summer 2011, which has sold over 1300 units globally.
• The Roadster version will be available for sale from mid 2013.
• The body shell is made up of carbon fiber monocoque with aluminium front and rear frames.
• Due to the structural re-enforcements needed for a roofless design, the Roadster weighs 50 kgs more than the coupe.
• Powered by a 6.5L V12 engine producing 700 BHP of power & 690 Nm of torque.
• 0-100 kmph in only 3 seconds (vs 2.9 of the coupe) and a max speed of 350 km/h.
• The openable top is two-piece and has to be taken off manually. It is made up entirely from carbon fiber. Each piece weighs 6 kgs.
• New Dione rims made of light forged aluminium reduce the vehicle weight by 10 kgs altogether. 20" at the front and 21" at the rear.
• In 2012, Lamborghini India has seen a 21% increase in sales.
• 2013 is also the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini.

So this is how you make it look like a Roadster. You need to lift off the 2-piece roof.


And then place the removed pieces under the bonnet.

Happened to check out the same today and it does look like monster ready to make it's kill! Beautiful is the word. I, for some reason prefer this over the hard top one

And what do i say about the engine note? She was revved by Gautam Singhania and boy, that exhaust thump is like music to the ears. Thanks for sharing this picture..

Pardon me if its off topic. Can left hand driven cars be marketed and sold in India? Or is it just that the show-pieces are left-hand-driven and the actual ones that would be sold here would be the right ones?

I had the opportunity to be real close to this hypercar during the Super Car Show in Bombay this past weekend.

Just 2 words to describe the feeling - Absolute Awesomeness!! Just being close to it has the ability to give you instant goosebumps and put an uncontrollable grin on your face Lets just say that the Aventador Roadster can do all that and much much more.

3 downsides:

• The fact that one has to "manually" get the roof on/off on a 5cr+ car
• The price
• Not meant for people who wear a wig... it ain't going to be there when you reach your destination with the top down

But then again - Quoting Jeremy Clarkson: "Supercars are meant to mess with the g-forces and hypercars are meant to mess with the g-strings"...

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster sold out until mid-2014.

Introduced less than three months ago, but that hasn't stopped the company from banking over a year's worth of pre-orders.

The company's drop top has been a huge hit with customers as the order books are filled up through the summer of 2014. This likely means anyone who hasn't pre-ordered the model will have to face a lengthy wait or pay a heavy premium to get the model earlier.

India has now gotten it's first Aventador Roadster. The car has been bought by a Bangalore man and is currently in Bombay awaiting delivery within the next few days.

The on road price of this touches 7.5crore according to Economic Times, making it the most expensive car in the country till date.

The taxes touch 3 crores?
Or 4.77 was the price before Chidambaramji decided to tax the rich?

Correct! Roadster was launched in the last week of January as can be seen from post#1 & the Budget was announced on last day of February!

Surely there must be a few Phantoms out there which cost more than that!?
