All Lamborghini supercars sold in India are completely built units (CBU) that are imported directly from the solitary Lamborghini factory at Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy. The Italian brand has sold about 90 supercars in India till date, with 17 supercars sold last year through the official Mumbai dealership. The car maker plans to sell 20 supercars this year.

In the next few years, the brand expects to sell 30-40 units of its supercars each year. Given the fact that Lamborghini is developing a high performance SUV dubbed the Urus, due for a 2017 launch, the Italian car maker's targeted sales of 30-40 yearly units in India could exceed expectations.

In the Indian market, young, high net worth individuals will be the brand's targeted buyers. Globally, Lamborghini sold about 2,000 supercars last year, with the major demand coming from the United States and China, followed by markets in the Middle East, UK and Japan. This year, Lamborghini plans to better last year's sales numbers.
