Re: Lamborghini Aventador SV LP750-4: South East Asia Launch

6.59 with the margin of attempting it just one time which turns out to be not such a flawless lap (its said there was a good 4-5 secs improvement possible). I see it as a huge achievement considering the other hypercar makers namely Ferrari/Porsche have had tremendous technical advancements to back their project cars. Especially Porsche with their 918. They have worked on it for more than 5 years now and has so much technology, the LaF or the P1 or the SV cannot match it in terms of wizardry.

But Porsche is all about performance and the fact that they took their technological tour de force to the ring makes it apparent that they are serious about the result. Considering the SV cuts it so close with less than half the gadgets all on its natural abilities, its more than commendable what they've done.

I'd love to see the La F, P1, 918, F12 Tfd, 675LT and the SV tested in identical conditions and see what happens. After the result at the Nordschleife, i have high hopes.

1. 'Holy Trinity' or no holy trinity, that lap time of 6:59 is mind boggling and demands all respect! God bless AWD.
But don't you think you are being a little too optimistic hoping for a 4-5 second improvement? That is like an eternity when it comes to lap times!

2. Like I've pointed out before, the purpose of these hybrids is not lap records or top speed or top trumps for that matter. They are simply showing the way ahead and all that their manufacturers have learned racing in Formula1(Ferrari and McLaren) and WEC(Porsche)!
So I think people should stop comparing all-motor cars to hybrids. Koenigsegg Agera/One:1 included.
Using the lap times of hybrids to put things in perspective is completely acceptable and appreciated. But please don't say stuff like they are "better" than the hybrids "for a fraction of the price".

3. Completely agree. The only way to settle this is if some magazine puts them all on the same race track with the same driver. Like Motor Trend with Randy Pobst at Laguna Seca (or Big Willow) or Evo with Jethro Bovingdon at Anglesey, since they both already have a nice database of many other cars running the same tracks at the hands of the same drivers.
The numbers only tell half the story but that half puts the F12tdf and 675LT ahead of the SV. Fact.

"Better" and "For a fraction of the price" are the terms i did not use. So that is a correction you have to make. I havent driven most of the cars mentioned above myself. To me thats a subjective issue and differs from person to person. Also, even comparing cars performances, real world or track, based on numbers is something i stopped doing years ago as to me it doesnt mean much anymore. Why, because as an example a Turbo S from current or some previous gens comes out trump compared to most big horsepower big money exotics. So its pointless.

I didnt also quote in my post anyone as the intention was not to start an argument, especially about most cars i havent driven (and assuming they havent been driven by the individual debating with me either).

Good to know the only one to make it to India out of the above is the SV.

Yes its going to share garage with some wonderful machines, V8 and V10 monsters included !

BTW Bhubaneswar has a decent number of supercars and exotics, and the superbiking scene is very active there as well.

The owner has a V8 Lexus LS460 and an Audi Q7 4.2 TDI, both of which are not as extreme as his other cars but still they are 8-cylinder mills.

Re: Lamborghini Aventador SV LP750-4: South East Asia Launch

Must be costing an insane amount thanks to the high road tax in Karnataka!
