The mystery behind 8888

Guys, Ive been seeing fabulous cars with regn no. 8888 (all registered in Delhi) travelling from Industrial Area in Gurgaon to Delhi almost everyday.

Ive seen the following cars - A Jaguar, a Porsche Carrera, an SL500, a Lexus as well as a Safari (i know its shadowed in this list).

One of my friends told me he saw an SLR too with the same num. Any ideas?

Wrong, there are no SLR's in India. Your friend might have seen an SL or a SLK.

That's interesting... there is a person here in hyd, who happens to be a close friend of my sis, whose cars have the 8888 reg number. But no such exotics to add to her cars list. The closest ones would be her e-class and her merc van.
There have been nasty jokes made at her expense (because of poor dear's size), as 88 in tambola is usually referred to as '2 fat ladies'.

Godspeed,

Alok

Not sure if this is true... I have recently seen a Black SLR Yes SLR with that prominent nose and a big three point star , around my house... came of from the same garage where I have seen this Bentley a lotta times.. Unfortunately, it was night and could not get any photos.

Are you sure it wasn't an SLK?

The one I saw last evening was not an SLK- It had its roof down and was silver in colour. And the back lights were way different than that of an SLK (as it appeared to me).

So it can't be the SLR since that's only available as a Coupe. Do you think you might have seen a 6-series convertible?
