The Bentley Bentayga was unveiled in September 2015. Now, the company has announced that it will launch the SUV in India on April 22, 2016.

Based on the MLB-Evo platform, the Bentayga is the only SUV in Bentley line-up. The company claims that it is the fastest SUV in the world.

The car features all the signature Bentley design elements such as the four round LED headlamps, a matrix front grille, B-shaped side vents, dual tail pipes and a roof integrated spoiler. The Bentayga's dashboard holds a Breitling Tourbillon clock, which is priced at Rs. 1 crore.

The Bentayga is powered by a 6.0-litre, W12 engine producing 600 BHP and 900 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Bookings for the Bentayga were opened in December 2015, and the first batch of 20 cars for India is reported to have already been sold out.

One unit, that too a First Edition (limited to just 608 units worldwide) has already landed and was seen doing the rounds in Delhi. I think this will be used as a launch car and then will be shipped over to Hyderabad to its owner.

Hmm, I wonder whether the owner would like his mint new car - do the rounds, get pawed by the press before he gets to enjoy it

From what I have heard, the car doing rounds in Delhi belongs to a prominent Delhi garage known for changing cars like clothes :D

In such cases, they do not let the media come too close to the car. They just allow to click pictures from a slight distance. No one sits inside. Gates are opened for a few minutes and shots taken from outside itself. Experienced this at the Ferrari Mumbai launch as the car was a customer car. Goes without saying, the car isn't given to anyone for driving. Owners happily agree to it as they get the first car in the country :)

I think fellow-bhpian Dippy can clarify the situation.
I said it might go to Hyderabad because that's what everybody has been saying. Plus this feature in Evo India on Mr. PP Reddy from November 2014 says that he had the 'Bentley SUV' on pre-order.

Or maybe the situation is like the one with the Ferrari 488 GTB where different cities were claiming to have the first one in the country. :p

The Bentley Bentayga has been launched in India at a base price of Rs. 3.85 crores (ex-showroom, Delhi). There is a new service centre opening in Hyderabad soon. And apparently, 100+ units have been booked in India already! Indians surely love SUVs :D

Yeah right. 100 Indians booking 4.5cr SUVs?

10 bookings would seem more realistic.

Its priced about a crore over the most expensive Range Rover LWB.

Well, at the launch event, they mentioned that booking numbers are in three digits. I too was surprised when I heard that from my colleague. In this thread, it is mentioned that 20 cars have been allotted to India for this year and that seems like a realistic number.

Bentley has launched the Bentayga in India at a price of Rs. 3.85 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the first SUV from the British luxury car maker.

The Bentayga is based on the Volkswagen Group's MLB-Evo platform. It is powered by a 5,950cc, W12 petrol engine that produces 600 BHP and 900 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel drive system. Bentley claims that this is the fastest SUV in the world with a 0-100 kph time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 301 kph.

Autocar says that,Bentley has allocated only 20 Bentaygas to India this year, with all 20 models are reportedly already sold out. The customers for these models are expected to be from among the current crop of Bentley owners and some select brand loyalists. The sales guys would be laughing all the way to the bank :)

The engine appears to the one mentioned in the below thread.

3.85cr!! that is steep pricing. So let's say I don't want the Breitling Tourbillon in my Bentayga, will they sell the car to me for 2.85cr ??stupid:
