Mercedes S500 Kompressor.

Hi guys,
Just 2 days back I saw a silver Mercedes S500 near my buidling. It was the new S with clear lens lights. I went towards it and went round and round it. It had Kompressor badges on both the sides. It had twin exhausts behind. There was a V8 logo on the C pillar on both sides. And it also had huge alloys [not the standard wheels].

Now what I want to know is that , is there an S500 Kompressor in the MB range??

The car was similar to the above one except it was silver.

?? Never heard of that before!

And nope...never heard of a S500K ! dont think it exists! (without being called the S55AMG ofcourse!)

Chances are it might be the S55 AMG . Logos are changed many times are we are so familiar with that

Nope there is no S500 Kompressor in the entire lineup!

i think He has a S350/500 and just got some AMG stuff put on like wheels , skirts etc. and wanted to have the kompressor badges which look cool.

and it cudnt be an S55 cuz the kompressor badges only on one side and also they are up front. and also a S55 ownder wudnt ever de-badge it..
I know a guy who has a 320 and has badged it 600 and i hate such folks...

more like look at me driving what i wish i was...

or, more likely, it could be just someone who likes badges...bought a few more and slapped them across the Benz! Maybe next week it could be a V12 on the front fenders

Well i have seen an S500 .. inside sittin was one of the Ambani guy... i think anil..its silver in colour

Well, In my lane itself is a fake-badged car (Or is it?)

Its a friends C180 "Kompressor" sedan. Has got the most beautiful 17" alloys though. Revvmaster has seen this car once.

There are several S500s in the country...we are discussing the posibility of it being a "S500 Kompressor"

and btw guys I think we had discussed a so called S55 AMG which was later seen badged as a 320 CDI

To fill a time gap between C180 and C200K for a short term DCIL had introduced a C180K it was just 2 months after which the 200K was launched.
And the issue abt S55/500/320CDI etc. is plain simple, Some people just love pretending what they are not.

I love a guy in Bbay who has a W220 S 280 and still drives it like that

Really? But whats the difference between a C180K and a C200K...since even the C200K actually has a 1.8 liter engine.

it defintely wasnt an AMG. The wheels, front skirts werent AMG. And it definitely wasnt a S320. Cos it had twin exhausts behind. The S320 has it only on one side. I am sure cos i circled the car almost 3-4 times to see what it really was. Oh and I forgot to mention. There was also a tiiiiiiny badge on the right side rear. It said "Bose".

There are 4 versions of the 1.8 Litre engine,
One badged C180K @ 143 Bhp ; One badged 200K @ 163 Bhp which we have in India ; The third one badged C230K @ 192 Bhp ; And the fouth and the best one which they should get to india in july with the facelift is the C200 CGI, Excellent new engine develops abt 170 Bhp but is very refined at power and fuel.
All have the same 1796cc engine, Just diffrent 'Kompressors' Lemme know if u need more info on any one of the above.

A 320 can have the twin exhausts as an option from AMG,
I have the pricelist for the 350,

Not only AMG even from BRABUS or Renntech or Kleeman

Sorry to bump into a 12 year old thread. Today - after 12 years, I can confidently say that I have grown older, have got white hair and am not as active I was then. But I cannot say the same thing about this W220 S500 Kompressor (?). I saw this S500 today - believe me or not - it still looks like how it looked 12 years ago. The paint, the interiors, the badges - everything was intact and as good as new. In todays world - when most of the W220 S Classes have either been abandoned in garages or gone to the ground - hats off to this owner to keep this one still going on like new.
