Team-BHP - Dil Chahta Hai.

No No. I'm not talking about Amir Khan or Saif or Rahul Khanna. The real hero according to me was the blue 300SL that made its appearance in the title song. One of the best SLs of all times. Used to see this car quite often in Juhu [5-6 years ago]. Driven by an elderly person with kids sitting next to him and in the rear.
I guess the car belonged to director BR Chopra who also owned a silver Porsche Boxster and now owns an X5.

Keep the SL's rolling,
It seriously is one car which in all generations has been worth talking about,
Talk about it from the days of the gullwing right until today's hot hard top roadster,

I think even akshay khanna used to have a similar SL in blue. Was guessing its his car in DCH. One of my pals was wondering they had plonked in a diesel engine in that car after seeing the smoke coming out when the car is pulling away at the end of that song. Best scene is aamir racing the car with the train. You can really make out the thrill on his face.

Car used in the movie was BR Chopra's. MH04AC1958. The pic is of the same car.

Guys, lets compare the two cars. No offence v12. You are the best judge anyways since you have seen the car in person.

The pic of the SL v12 has posted has clear turning lights in the head lamps as well as on the side. This car somehow looks sleeker to me than the one in DCH. It is completely blue in color and has a hard top. The SL does come with a removable hardtop which can be removed and kept aside for those sunny days.

The SL in the movie has orange turning lamps both fore and sides. Also it is in a two tone finish. Blue and gray. Also this one has wipers on its headlamps. The wheels are the same in both cars. Cant make out the ducts aft of the front wheels. This car has 3. The later versions, correct me if i am wrong, had only 2 more rounded ducts on either side.

i guess the car was painted after the movie then. one thing for sure its the same car cos it had the same regn. MH04AC1958. Or I may be wrong. It cud be a jhol car.

Dunno somehow both cars have too many differences but all look like they cud have been modified after the movie,
But then i dun think anyone wud remove the wipers, also can someone look closer in N4S's pic and see if its got chrome?
The grill is the same so cud be the changes were made to make the car look newer,

oh i forgot to mention one thing. If u look carefully at the SL in my pic, u'll notice the missing Merc[chrome] logo on the grille. So i gues the car was being worked upon. Also the headlight wipers are very much there , though not clearly visible in the scanned pic.

There was a similar SL in akshay khanna's first film. Same blue color. I had also read it somewhere that akshay has a SL in bombay. And whats a 'jhol car' v12?

Sorry, no high res pics s350. So we will have to make do with this. I have also seen a maroon SL near crossroads a couple of years ago. That one was with a hard top. The head lamp wipers are a std fitment on the sl. So no question of taking them out. Couldnt have been modified for the movie S350. Like i said in my earlier post, this car was very much similar to the one in akshays first movie. They could have modified it after dch.
