Just wondering this is a winter hard top right??...coz as far as I know M3 always came with a softtop...is the hard top automatically retractable like the soft top??

Nope. I don't think so. You have to remove the top off and... er....well keep it at your place or garage. Doesn't look as if it has place to accomodate that hardtop roof.

yes gordon is right.
The hard top has to be removed and stored as is. the soft top roof is unfolded at the time of the hard roof on. once the hard roof is removed, then the softtop roof can be functional. I have a client who did forget to secure his black m tech bmw roof properly. while doing about 100kmph it came of. breaking the roof and also damaging the whole car including the windscreed frame. You should have seen the state of the car. even the leather seats got ripped. this happened recently. The car is in delhi.
He will be sending it to me soon for repair. will take pics if i have a camera by then.
The number of things i have missed because of no camera is so sad.

The M3 runs around 65 lakhs on-road in Bombay, once you add a couple of (rather expensive) options, like SMG and a high-spec sound system, to the standard spec.

As for discounting, Navneet doesn't stock these cars for Indian customers, they are built-to-order, so there's no excess inventory lying around and no need to go discounting new cars.

If you found a dealer abroad with a couple of extra M3s lying around that nobody wanted to pay full-price for, you MAY be able to negotiate a discount, though this seems unlikely, because the new M3 will have a long waiting list at launch anyway and will command a premium if you're in a hurry to get one, so the old-shape brand-new cars should hold their value fairly well.

Looks like an M3 klaus but I guess we'll have to wait for one of the Mumbai members to confirm whether it's a genuine M3 or not.

It does look genuine to me... dual exhaust + the wheel, but you never know it could be a case of good detailed badging job.

The E36 M3 came in coupe, sedan and convertible and in the US market was offered with a conventional automatic transmission as an option.

the blue one is definetly not a M3 ...biggest difference is a m3 is a coupe(2 door) then the quad tailpipes, big air vent with the M logo on the front fender above the front wheels and yeah how can one forget the sound!!

All the features you've mentioned are post year 2000 model features, the car in the pic is obviously pre 2000 model, and like Mpower rightly pointed out M3 was offered in 4 door, and pre 2000 there were no quad tailpipes on M3.

You are right about the sound... only if there was an audio file attached
