Ok....So it isnt the new Carrera. So what. A Carrera is a Carrera. And this one was a brand new piece. Looked really very sweet.

Hey V12...was this a cabrio? That looks like a hardtop inplace doesn't it? Awesome pic and find man!

50 years ago, they were related, not anymore. The 914 was the last of the Porsche line up to use VW sourced parts.
