Silver Corvette ZR-1 spotted on Marine Drive

Spotted a silver "Vette ZR-1 on the way to work. Recognised those ZR-1 square tail-lights (versus regular ovals) from a distance. It looked pretty clean, and the owner has got to be a Corvette connoisseur to import the ZR-1.

EDIT : These pictures were added in February 2011

Wow! The ZR-1s got to be the best Corvettes of all time. Lots of poke from that DOHC (isnt it the only OHC corvette ever?) engine.

The ZR-1 engine was actually developed by Lotus, which was acquired by GM a little before.

A marketing professor of mine was part of Lotus then. It sure made class interesting!

I feel like this car has been around in bombay for a very long time. From hearsay, it might be possible that the owner owns/owned a restraunt in the opera house area... ?

But on the other hand, as Dippy said it very well could be the green ZR1 repainted. Infact i had spotted it a few days before the speedrun at chowpatty the first year it ran as well.

I am not so sure, but the Green Corvette you all are talking about was an LT1 and not a ZR1. I may be wrong here!

I think the restraunt owner at Opera House has the Sting Ray and not a ZR1.

I have seen the silver stingray, but i was told he owns a ZR1 as well ? Not a very reliable source....so quite possible that it was infact the stingray in question!

I'd seen the dark green one around Bandra many years ago. Think it used to be owned by one of the Dewans, if I'm not mistaken.

how come he got a lhd vette since the zr1 is a 90-95 made and rregarding its dohc it had multiple overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder, while all Corvettes before 1990 worked with a single camshaft deep in the engine block and two valves per cylinder. Work on a new super Corvette started after the introduction of the C4, in the form of turbochaged V6 and V8 engines. These configurations did not work out and the decision was made to go with a double overhead cam naturally aspirated engine.
