If Toyota can sell an LC for 2.1 and LX for 2.80, why should Mercedes sell so cheap

G Wagon now starts at 3.3 Cr that's over a Crore extra over the launch prices. Despite the high prices, don't expect to get a slot soon. Some of the dealers have been quoting a Year and a Half though recently Mercedes offered priority deliveries on certain models to existing customers.

I’d rather buy a G350d and then a Porsche Boxter with the remaining money.
(I anyway can’t take the G63 AMG to the track)

But can you actually buy one now in India

Looks like you missed one when it was available. Not been sold by MB India for a while.

Demand and Supply; even at these higher rates, it carries a waitlist and deliveries of 12 months plus. Don't know how correct is this information though.

Further, due to tax compliance, MNC's will like to tread carefully on the transfer rates from overseas to India. With 100 % Custom duty and 50 % GST, 2,3 Cr implied less than 100K Euro as the transfer price. This cannot be correct per the Arm lengths transfer principle. Also, Euro is almost touching 90 to a Rupee. The highest increase recently seems to be on G and MayBach GLS.

I am afraid i don't see what's the surprise element here. The G Wagen has always been priced at a premium. An X5 at full spec is well over a crore, a X7 aproaching 2 and even an X1 approaching 70 lakhs. I fully expect the G Wagen to be priced approximately.

Not surprised in the least at the 3.3 crore sticker price. It's always been a halo product.

I'm seeing the G wagon for EUR 150-170K in the UK which is a right hand drive Market. Assuming all taxes would make the car INR 3-3.4 crore.
The India spec model, selling at 3.6 cr ex showroom is a terrible buy right?
Please correct my thoughts if I'm wrong.
I also don't know if the g wagon has a huge customisation market like rolls.
