Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid launched at Rs. 5.25 crore

Bentley has launched the Flying Spur Hybrid in the Indian market. The luxury limousine is priced at Rs. 5.25 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Flying Spur Hybrid is offered with extensive customization options, including over 60 exterior colours. Customers can personalize their cars by opting for the Mulliner options.

Bentley offers 15 colour options just for the interior leather and eight different veneer choices. Customers can even choose the stitching and piping for seat covers, diamond quilted seats, emblems and 3D leather door panels.

Under the bonnet is a 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine paired with a hybrid system. It develops 536 BHP and 750 Nm, enabling the limo to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a claimed 4.3 seconds. The Flying Spur Hybrid is also the most fuel-efficient Bentley, with an estimated range of over 800 km.

So, the legendary 6 liter W12 has been cut in half and paired with a motor-battery. As if the super rich are supposed to be impressed by fuel efficiency. They are estimating 800km a tankful, that is, what, 8kmpl? On a hybrid?

Not sure if India is the target market for this car. The target market would be markets with emissions based taxation - whether road tax, congestion or perquisite.

From what I read - if you can afford the Bentley - the V8 is the sweet spot! The Hybrid offers the same performance but you'll be wanting for the sense of occasion!
