guys i saw a red bentley continental convertible in the evening on the main road outside golf links, did take a pic with my phone, but its too blurry so not worth posting, it has an old series registeration number, D** 1. i thought old numbers could not be transfered on to new cars, as per the high court stay. but i guess if you know the right people, or are one of them, you can (and do) get away with murder.
In Delhi, you can pay and get these numbers done.

not the old series, at least not legally.
i think its legal. I have seen DEV registration on atleast 2 cars here in Mumbai.
gordon you need to know people in high places and alot of money in your pocket to pull out an old series in bombay or delhi. it is not given easily.
awini the car is from our neibhourhood itself, i remember my driver telling me about it(drivers gossip you see. your saab my saab comparrisions;) ). i never paid attention cause every big car is a bentley, rolls or an S class. a sunroof is a convertible for him. tom i shall ask him in detail about the car.
you cant be given a old number from the reg office. but there are legal ways. it is quite exp, i just had it done on one of my cars.
well one can Officially get an old number if it is free or freed. Question is it costs Money. official and under the table, totaling a couple of lacs!! One can also transfer thier old number to a New car Legally in Delhi only as yet!!
Last day I was at Delhi & saw a frens Palio with such an old series VIP no...when I enquired about it, he told its possible to transfer & is leagal in Delhi..my another fren along with us supported him...
well,its possible to transfer the numbers in delhi as long as the owner remains same.

not true,rto stated otherwise when i wanted to do so, i had to let go of some nice numbers because they woulnt transfer them. some are, DIK 20, DHC 7000,DED 97,DIV 7000, DLH 333....
sry cant click the pics due to some reasons....jst to inform u guys tht the continental gtc and the azure are being launched at the british high commission on the 12th of oct....will try and gt some pics on tht day at the unvieling...
