Can anyone identify if the wheels are 22" or not ?

The SpeedART TITAN 600 is a 600HP power kit which includes:
modified turbo chargers and sport exhaust system, 22" wheels TITAN Elegance, sport steering wheel, carbon here n there etc.

Is it a E38 7er or a E39 5er? The 7er's rear lights have amber turn-indicators and that's why I'd put my money on it being a E39 5er. But I'm not entirely sure myself? There isn't much of the car in the picture and that makes it even harder!
You sure dude ?

I still think it is a 7er. Take pics posted by ragingbull for instance,

- Notice a slight spoilerish rise in the boot line of the E39 5? Which is clearly not that prominent(almost unnoticeable) in the E38 7. Now match that with the car in the pic.
- Regarding the amber colored indicators, the above pic speaks for itself.
- No chrome strip that meets the tail lamp which is present in the 5.
- If you guys still feel it is the 5, where has the white and very noticeable reverse lamp vanished ?

@Shamik: And this is too when I have cropped the image, we could have played the game 'Spot the Ferrari' if I had posted the original image.

Boy this is a tough one. It might be the 7er but I'm sticking to my guns.

- That spoiler-ish rise in the boot line isn't very visible due to the picture. It's hard to judge
- About the amber coloured lights, well, you can't completely say that it's a 7er just because it has clear lens indicators. But all 5ers have clear lens indicators!
- Chrome strip could have been removed, perhaps?
- What reverse lamp?

I would have to agree with Scorcher with it being a 7 series. The photo attached by Scorcher is not a stock car, so its probably not a fair comparison. See the photo attached for a rear view of the 7 series.

The 7 series had a chrome strip too, which you can see in both photos. Only problem is the 5 series had a chrome strip too, but lower down on the bumper (i think) and only in certain models, not across the whole range. The reverse light in the 5 series was almost in the middle of the rear cluster.

I have attached photos of a 2001 7 series and a 5 series of similar vintage, with the reverse lamp of the 5 series circled.

Plus Aparth says he knows the owner and the car. So how about some better photos to confirm.

Edit: The photos are of Autotrader and the owners didn't bother blanking out the number plates, so i would think its OK not too. Plus i wouldn't think English number plates have any relevance in India. The 'Y' at the start of number denotes the year of registration 2001

Oh man sid, you are really lucky. That Caddy is probably even more rarer than an Aston Martin in India. Btw what is it with the Range Rover's rear suspension?

Nice pics of the STS Sid! There are 2 of these in Bombay as well. This one has after-market tail laps, right? AFAIK the STS doesn't get those kinda headlights as stock.

What a ruckus that E38 has caused. Obviously it's a 7er.

The taillights are stock. The EU versions of STS come with transparent glass LED taillights and additional lights at the rear bumper due to EU specific regulations, as compared to the US models, which have red lenses on it. Its a face lifted '09 model, with that new grill and ugly fender vents. Otherwise, the car looks quite sophisticated, leave for the interior which looks pretty outdated as compared to the CTS. This one is powered by a 3.6 V6 GDI petrol with 304 bhp and was imported from UK I believe.
It has come for accidental repair. The right side headlight was damaged and needs replacement, so does some work on RHS fender, if you carefully see he last pic, it is out of shape.

I guess I was wrong. It is after all, a 7er. Thanks for clearing that up fellas!

Great catch Sid! It's not everyday you get to see a proper American car. The Chrysler 300C is the closest thing 'American' in India, leaving out the countless number Hummer H2s and H3s of course.
