re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

I'd asked this question earlier in some other thread, but didn't get a response.

What in the World is that silver colour called? It doesn't look like a normal silver to me! Why I say it's not normal is because I've seen a XJ in silver before and it didn't look great. Almost boring! But this looks stunning! So tasty! I'd seen a XF-S in Bangalore with that same colour and trust me, it's THE BEST colour on a Jag! I'm absolutely in love with it.

There is an XJ as well in Bangalore with the same color. Looks absolutely stunning IMO. the best color for XF and XJ.
Think //M has posted a pic of it in Bangy thread.

If any supercar (sports car / luxury car) owners are reading this (or if any one knows such owners, ask them to) do use Shell fuel for their automobiles.

I find Shell fuel both the regular unleaded and the premium variant better in keeping engine vibrations down and delivering more economy rather than the fuels supplied by our OMCs

Audi A8, in a rarer shade. Nice to see owners opt out of the traditional white!

Is that a W12? The wheels look very similar to the ones offered as standard on that model. Nice shade of paint, btw

Spotted a Silver Hummer on Mogappair Main road (heading towards Ambattur) around 9:20 A.M. today. Couldn't get a picture as I was on my bike on the opposite side. It had 'Abhi' written in larger font in red on the front number plate though.

Hmm, I think you might be right! Not very clear, but the badge on the second photo does seem like a 'W'.

re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

Is it just me, or does it look like Bentley has given the new Continental GT some extra ground-clearance?

That definetly is the W12 going by the exhausts and the Rims.

I second that suhaas, looks like it has been given some extra ground-clearance than the previous generation GT's, and in this picture the B's adjustable air suspension settings looks like it was set to max height !

Off topic: You could control the height of the suspension using a button on the dash or the touch screen interface.

Wow! Does anybody remember the old Citroens that had everything hydaulic: you could raise or lower the car by adjusting a lever.

Certainly looks like my worries in a previous post have been taken care of.

It's still excluded from my car-buying list, though. Guess why!

re: Supercars & Imports : Chennai

Whatever Indian-road-specific features and gizmos are on offer, these brands of beauties are definitely OFF my purchase list

On another note don't you think these ultra-luxury and ultra-performance brands could increase their margins or offer better price by NOT OFFERING some functionality, for e.g., SEAT WARMERs?

Yeah I know what the answer is. If they did, they wouldn't be BENTLEY (for e.g.)

That Bentley's color is amazing.

Let me guess, your cheque-book wouldn't approve?

I agree with you to some extent. But like you said, it wouldn't be a Bentley without these features. And someone willing to spend 2-3 crores on a car will want EVERYTHING. Whether they'd use the features or not. *winks*

My cheque book couldn't even dream about it. Even my house doesn't come anywhere near a fraction of it. A new Polo will have to do

ssh1979: I have dreamed around the Bentley site a while back, and they really are highly customizable. Don't let the heated seats be a deal breaker for you: they will probably leave them out if you ask!

Of course ...they might charge extra for that!
