I'm not in town, sorry. Why not ask Accordmasters? I believe he's in Delhi too.

Its not the SMG tranny, these new M3's have the M-DCT double clutch 7 speed tranny.

On a side note, these flappy paddle tranny's are simply awesome, especially on the track. They pull real hard through the seemless shifts. I have driven many SMG's and even the 'fast shifting' automatic AMG's and the difference is NIGHT & DAY. The Germans got this one right...

Actually I read the exact opposite about the DCT gearbox and on-track driving, where the 'box refuses to give you the gear you want when decelerating. There is also a recall currently on the DCT equipped cars, at least in the U.S. I'm sure it's a nice tranny for street use, but in its current state there are issues.

You are right about that issue, it was a problem with the 08's (I experienced it on a long testdrive). My dealer told me that its a software issue and there is an update/fix for it. The 09 coupe that I drove on the track did not seem to have this issue and it downshifted just fine. I rode with a very experienced driver (race instructor) and he showed me some driving that I'd never seen before in the 09 DCT. Keep in mind that with such a transmission, and 7 ratios to play with, the amature track driver will tend to shift through more gears that necessary, resulting in an upset car (in the corners) and a slower time around the track. Get a professional racer to validate the bad reviews about MDCT and I will be surprised!

Yes, the fix is in the software, but owners of DCT cars that have been "fixed" are complaining of new problems such as sluggish acceleration out of corners once their cars have been in for the fix.

Not heard of that but could very well be the case. Good thing I diddn't go for the DCT in 08, however i'm leaning towards an 09 DCT as i've been nothing but pleased with it...

I guess Navnit has a black M3 convertible on display at the Andheri showroom. Seen it last night.

Anyways here are the pics of the dark blue M3 :

Hey, why is the roof in the mid-stage of conversion?! For display?

people beleive that in india. convertibles dont work.

i think this is just a perception. i dont have the pics but i have seen the bmw M3, bmw 650i, mercedes benz sl 55 amg convertible. etc in my city ahmedabad.

yes people do buy them. these are cars meant for driving pleasure only. they dont use it to go to the office or work. i have seen these cars with top down in the night. oh how sexy these cars look in real is just wow!

i like the m3 among the lot because its a hardtop convertible. you can use it as a normal hardtop. in hot afternoons. in the late evenings or night you can put the top down and enjoy. the drive. its perfect.!!

Well, the sad part is that although we have year-round perfect open-top motoring weather, with the amount of pollution in our cities, I personally would never use a convertible. Plus I'd be too scared of being spat or puked on every time I passed a bus / truck!

E93 without doubt!

Its true, convertibles are just not practical in urban India. Plus with BMW's, you pay a 20% premium, if not more for the drop top, and I dont see the sense in paying more for something that most would rarely use. I love convertible's but wouldn't get one in Bombay...

The red M3 spotted on its way to the showroom.

Maverick - Have the M models at the showroom been sold or they are here just for display. I see most of the M's (white M6, blue M3) disappear and reappear at the showroom. I guess currently the showroom houses the grey and blue M3 and an X5.

That's a great shot Gordon! I've seen lots of pics where the Melbourne Red M3s look almost orange, but in this shot, the colour seems to be correct!
