Re: Cricket Stars and their cars

The electricity pole between Virat Kohli's cars, is the pole on his property or the govt has "gifted" him part of the public road to park his cars on ?

I have no clue about how the electricity pole landed up there but in NCR, parking space is a big challenge so most car owners park their vehicles on public roads. Most industrialists and celebrities park their cars outside too. If you scroll through the Delhi supercar thread, you will find many exotic cars parked by the roadside.

I see it as a good thing, protecting the ORVMs from careless cyclist or two wheelers on the road.

It’s common to use front and side green (vacant) area here in North. Am sure it’s the case in most places elsewhere too.

You can make an official request, pay some fees to move any such pole or similar structure as long it’s technically feasible.

Kindly explain how parking space is a challenge for those with huge mansions/properties like these. If they have the space to build houses of such size they 'can' very well afford to build parking within their walls if they ever had sense. They have no right to park on sidewalks.

It is not a parking space challenge, but quite embarrassingly for the rich in Delhi, a sheer lack of civic sense as well as lack of stringent laws in the capital.

Not all houses have adequate space regardless of how large they may appear to be. Going by that picture alone, it's quite evident that there isn't enough space for those two cars to be parked indoors. Especially because he might have parked a few cars inside, too. Moreover, in the pics, it's quite visible that other cars of nearby houses are doing the same and even after all cars are parked there is more than enough space for anyone to walk.

Many neighbours of mine that have 3-4 cars have no option but to park outside their house on the road (our private road doesn't have a sidewalk). It's an inconvenience, sure, but there really isn't a lot they can do about it.

Parking on the sidewalk might not be legal, but provided that there's a genuine dearth of space and the person has parked their car in a way which doesn't obstruct pedestrians, it really isn't that big of a deal...

Note from Support: The discussion around parking facilities has had an adequate discussion, however is not the topic of this thread. Let's get back on topic, please.

Thanks.

MS Dhoni : Vintage Rolls-Royce

Looks like CaptainCool has added a vintage Rolls-Royce to his garage.

It can be seen parked next to the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and Hummer in the garage of his Ranchi farm house.

MSD has also been spotted driving it out on one ocassion until now.

Does anyone have more info on this addition ?

Re: Cricket Stars and their cars

And about a little over a decade, MSD said the below. Although I understand the sentiment would be more towards money and fame related question and its not like he lied but its a little tricky in modern age of relativity of references.

"As for the money, whatever I've earned until now is enough for me to live a very good life. I have a good job with Indian Airlines. You have to know what's enough. I don't want to drive a Bentley or a Rolls Royce."
