Many Thanks for the Visual treat! The pics are just drool worthy! If I needed any incentive to start savings the pics and the revised prices are a huge motivation Brilliant coverage on the forum, thanks again!

Re: Harley-Davidson @ Auto Expo 2012

Great pictures from the HD stall. Before HD came to India, based on what I had read of the comapny's policies in case studies and articles I was of the opinion that HD prices its products at a high premium (brand value at its best) and its accessories are even higher priced. Which is why I expected HDs to be really expensive in our country.

Not only are they reasonably priced (wrt competition), HD has built its brand value in India on the back of some really good marketing and this is something that companies like Hyosung and new comers like Triumph can learn from. Thumbs up to HD for bringing down the prices of their models.

Re: Harley-Davidson @ Auto Expo 2012

The Super Low is the entry level and aspirational brand for most bikers at 5.5L. Would have loved to see this in BLACK. Its a fight between this and the Ducati Monster for the entry level superbike contest for me.

Throw in the Triumph Bonneville & Speed Triple for comparison and am sure it will be all the more confusing

Thanks for the superb pics
The price drop seems to be too good, I hope it encourages the other bigwigs to take the CKD route
cheers!

Re: Harley-Davidson @ Auto Expo 2012

Just couldn't resist the temptation after seeing the pics, so visited the HD showroom in BLR. The super low has more of Harley DNA in the lower price range as compared to Iron 883 & Roadster. Basically because of the huge tank on Super Low it looks more majestic.
While talking to the SA, got to know that the ground clearance in Super Low is causing problems for owners in BLR city. Thanks to the zillions of speed breakers. The solution for now is to go in for a suspension upgrade package costing 50K
It will increase the GC from 100 mm to 120mm

Few more points which I never knew before visiting the showroom:
There is no free service for HD
You can customize your bike at the time of purchase for free
Booking amount is 50 K
Waiting time is 3 months, if you're lucky you can get it in 45 days time
The leather jackets in the accessories store cost starts from 18K on-wards to 45K

Lavish what kind of customizations are allowed to be done for free?

And what is the suspension upgrade package? Do they put new suspension or just spacers or what else? This would be interesting to know.

The upgrade is to new stiff suspension which will give you additional 20 mm height.
The workshop mechanics received many concerns from HD owners in Bangalore that chassis covering the engine block hits the speed bumps. Most of the speed bumps are with dangerous sizes & mostly unmarked.

All Harley's can be customized as to ones preference. Some are stock options to which there is no charge. There are some options to add more "bling" which can add to the final bill.

There is a whole catalog they show you when you start your ordering process.
