Re: Kawasaki ZX10R & ZX14R : Launch Report and Pics

Anyone registered the 10R in Bangalore so far?

Why I am asking is because until the model is listed in the RTO systems registration is a royal pain. Honestly last thing I would want is to run around the RTO trying to get the bike registered.

Have also heard about the Delhi and Bangalore Kawasaki showrooms coming up soon. Will help with all this red-tape once they do open.

Re: Kawasaki ZX10R & ZX14R : Launch Report and Pics

I have some questions for the experts regarding the Kawasaki ZX-14r.

The Kawasaki dealership in pune says the 2014 colour is the same as the 2013 colour which is the all green for India.

Is this possible as country specific colours should be from their current colour scheme of 2014?.

would it be possible that they are clearing their old stock in India and calling it the 2014 bikes since they are being imported now?

I asked for the production date of the vehicle and they say they cannot give it, as they don't have the vehicle in their possession.

I asked them for a picture of the colour scheme and they sent me the all green pics and on my asking, they said this is the 2014 colour for India. When i had spoken to them earlier, they said its the black and green combination. Now i have my doubts to go ahead with the purchase or cancel.

Why don't you ask for the VIN? Or get in touch with BAL or Kawasaki officially via e-mail. That should work.

That i have asked for but the dealership is not giving it, they state that since the bike is not in their possession, it cannot be given. They would only give details once the full payment is in their hands. Which really means one is stuck if its a 2013 manufacturing.

Would be best to contact them via mail, so that you get everything in written.

Any friend or someone you know got a 10 or 14, can be of help. Vicky of PRS has got a 10R. Maybe if you know PRS guys & have bought stuff, they may chip in & help.

Re: Kawasaki ZX10R & ZX14R : Launch Report and Pics

I had a word with the Kawasaki head and he says the green with black ducts or gills combination is for Inda and they are 2014 manufactured vehicles, the 2013 were all green.

I really don't understand Kawasaki's love for green and to throw it on to a customer, even though their big bikes are CBU's..The first thing i would be doing is wrapping the bike to a different colour, i hate the green..

Congratulations speedy bhai.

The ZX14R is massive and I'm sure it dwarfs everything else on two wheels. Wishing you many happy miles with this behemoth.

Is that a Merc 170V in the background?

Congratulations Speedy. It is an awesome machine. We went to Mahabaleshwar yesterday for break-fast. The ZX-14 literally flew over everything including the ghats! Enjoy & ride safe.

Congratulations Speedy!!!
The bike looks insane in the photograph, which I am sure does it no justice.
Since you are from Bombay too, hope to see the bike sometime.

Have fun and ride safe!

Cheers

Re: Kawasaki ZX10R & ZX14R : Launch Report and Pics

A little word of caution for Kawasaki owners and prospective owners of superbikes.

I just completed 1k kms and called the dealership regarding service and to have someone sent to Bombay from Pune. I received an invoice in the mail and it was a shocker.

Kawasaki dealership was charging for conveyance, food for the technician, 50% of labour earned by the dealership for a day by the technician. This part added up to 7k. The oil filter and cost of periodic first service is another 7.8 k. Then the taxes apply giving the entire service a total of Rs.16.5k odd.

I spoke to the showroom guys and was informed that this cost is given by Kawasaki India (which i do not believe). I was also informed that i need to send them the money in advance and then only a technician would be sent to service the vehicle. This is a first for me as payment is generally made after the service is done and not before the guy even leaves his showroom, forget seeing the bike.

I did have a word with the owner of the dealership as i found the additional 7k a waste and why would a owner of a high end bike bear their costs, Most brands do not charge for it. He too said kawasaki has set these norms and he can't do much about it. He then told me they would be setting up a service centre at Palm beach road (outskirts of Mumbai) in a months time and then i can ride the bike there and save the additional costs.

Guys you or your friends who own a kawasaki can be informed about this and if you ride your bikes to the service centre its half of what you would pay if you call a technician to service the vehicle at your place.

I do hope kawasaki opens up more dealerships across the country as the current ones (Delhi and Pune) will take advantage of being a monopoly.
