Hey guys!

So just the other day i was travelling to Vashi when I stumbled upon this unidentified bike going at crazy fast speeds.

When i looked closely it definitely looked like a Harley. But it doesn't seem like the new made-in-India Harley. I'm not much of a bike guy.

Looks like a HD XR1200X to me.

Yes it does look like that, its my favorite one too. But i guess they have stopped this model from 2013 lineup itself. Are they testing it as an exclusive model for India?

The upswept exhaust and an upright riding position surely hints towards the XR1200X.
As per their spec sheet, this one will output 100 Nm of peak torque & FE numbers are expected to be 18.8 kmpl.

The 2014 Auto-Expo will surely throw some more light on this.

As Harley said, they still have some surprises in their launching event of Street series, perhaps they are indeed having some big thoughts about India.

Actually, the XR1200X was one of the dozen or so bikes initially showcased by H-D when they first came to India ... along with the 883R.

And if I am not much mistaken, they even sold a few as CBUs.

Not sure where H-D owners hang out on the 'net ... but I'm sure if you post there, you'll hear the same thing.

I think HD is setting up a new dealership in Navi Mumbai. There is possibility that either dealership or HD's official may be using a unit from their old stock. But then why it should camouflaged? Even I am clueless.

I am not convinced that this is a new XR1200X.

I might be wrong, but I believe this is the same old XR1200 which was parked at the old dealership in Linking Road, and now probably being taken to the new dealership in Navi Mumbai.

You are correct, HD did sell them in India initially. One of my good friend does have this example in Bangalore and uses it extensively. The bike does behave very much like the HD but handling is far better compared to its other cousins.

Yes this is the bike which I was referring to. Thanks for posting the picture. Was searching in my set of photos to put it up.
