yes the zzr 600 and 400 look identical. only difference is the engine.
whats the location of the bike that you're talking about?
2.8 seems like a decent price, as you're going to have transfer it to bbay regn which will cost you around 25k, and considering the bike is a KA registered the bike would not be having full papers.
lastly every sbk owner claims the bike to be newer by a couple ofyears, if not 4 - 5 years, so keep it in mind that your bike mostly isnt newer than 97.

ankit for the simple reason that its going that cheap being a 600 I need you to check a)tyres b)chain & sprocket c)forks d)clutch e)last but the most important the total import duty paid and the original rc book and the last insurance done on it to confirm and make sure the next time you see it you get the engine # on it just to make sure we are on the same page
The only ZZR600 I've seen in Mumbai is a Maroon non-ram air model, which I saw before I bought my bike. That is definatly not a 99 model. However, I don't remember it having a KA plate, so you're probably talking about a different bike.
Check the front of the bike. Does it have the ram air inlets under the headlights? If not, then the bike is a 89-91 machine which is a ZZR D model. The Ram air ones were called "E"'s. Another way to check is the instrument cluster. Take a look at my garage pics. If it looks exactly like that, it is an E. If it does not have the fuel gauge, its a D.
Check the exhaust. The ZZR is very finicky and a small change can upset the carburation which leads to stuttering at different speeds. Not a big problem, but something that requires it to be tuned and/or jetted correctly.
As far as riding the ZZr goes, its really a comfortable machine to ride all day, even in traffic. It may seem big, but once you're in the saddle, it fits like a glove.
RT, you forgot about the tailight, which was an indepedent unit till i think 93 or so, bikes after that had an integrated unit of the tailight and rear indicators.
manson.
hay guys
it an kawasaki zzr 400cc not 600cc it is an 2000 model n imported in 2002 the 1 owner has juss put the 600cc logo on it saw the bike today n started it...sound is very silent doesnt make loud noise..it has a crack on the bally below the radiator...wheels was as new n no sound from the engine...only the problem is of KA regis

don't think it would be worth anything more than 2.25.

Nope, the ZZR never had independent tail lights.
And man, till one year ago, I never saw a single ZZR. Now these things are popping up all over the place!

Take your word for this. you surely know the stuff better than i do.
But i do recall you only telling me about this tail light stuff when we had a look at that blue zzr, remember?
manson.
You mean the indicators. Yes, the D model does not have flush indocators at the rear like the E.
Bike is repainted.
'Dealer job'(Thorough wash,Paint Touch-ups,Polishing) is also done, so that the bike looks like a cleeen piece.
