Harley-Davidson: The H.O.G. Rally Thread

Harley-Davidson India has announced that the 3rd edition of the Southern H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) Rally will be held from 26-28 September, 2014 at Hyderabad. The rally serves as an opportunity for H.O.G. members to come together and share their experiences.

Activities at the gathering will include burnouts, mechanized bull rides, arm-wrestling and H.O.G. Custom Contest that invites entries from all H.O.G. members across India to find the best customized motorcycle. The 3rd Southern H.O.G. Rally will also be the first zonal rally for owners of the recently launched Harley-Davidson Street 750.

More than 600 Harley-Davidson from across all 13 H.O.G. Chapters are expected to take part in the rally. Hosted by Banjara H.O.G. Chapter, Hyderabad, it is expected to be the largest gathering of Harley-Davidson motorcycles that South India has ever witnessed with riders coming from as far as Chandigarh and Kolkata.

Iam sure this will be one awesome event and we hyderabadis will be treated to roars of Harley's

Will probably take a detour to work just to grab a sight of these mighty machines and to hear their exhaust notes

This seems like a hell of an event. Looking forward to have a glimpse of it. Feel so helpless with around 2 more months left to get my ride... Any fellow Tbhpians coming to hyd?? I guess Shubz will be here, what about you Dust_harl and Srijeeth?

Yes Yes yes! I am going to be there! and so is Sreejith! We are bunch of buddies with different motorcycles, ranging from Street to Fat boy and beyond, besides ton's of folks from the Bangalore Chapter who will be riding to Hyderabad for this event!

Harley-Davidson India will be organising their 4th Southern H.O.G. Rally. It will be held from 11th to 13th of September, 2015. This year over 1000 riders are expected to take part in the ride to Kochi.

Jose EP, Director, Spice Coast Chapter Kochi, said, "Spice Coast Chapter Kochi is proud to host the 4th Southern HOG rally. There has been a strong demand within the fraternity to choose a venue in Kerala and it's exciting that we could manage to pull it off at Kochi."

Owners of Harley-Davidson will be present at the event with families. This is a great opportunity for several of them to express their creative side. They will also be organising burnout battles, arm wrestling, inter-chapter competitions and many more.

Every year Harley-Davidson owners try to win the ‘Big 5' patch, which is awarded to riders that complete four zonal rallies and the National H.O.G. rally which is held in Goa, thus covering several thousand kilometres.

Fourth Southern H.O.G. Rally will be the second Zonal Rally of 2015. It is expected that several Harley-Davidson owners will be present to accept their 'Big 5' patch.

Now just a word of caution to the riders on the Kerala speed guidelines. The speed for motorcycles is set at 80 kmph and the traffic police have set up speed monitors/detectors and cameras at regular intervals on the highway to catch over speeding vehicles, so just be a bit cautious on the throttle and don't give a chance for the police to levy heavy fines for going above their prescribed speed limits.
