800 cc twin from KTM caught testing

The thread title says it all. Looks like 2016 will see the new engine make its way into a new motorcycle. I for one can hardly wait

Wish there was a translation. There seems to be different versions and the one with the headlamp at an angle with a semi fairing is pretty sore on the eyes (i.e the one where the rider is wearing arlen ness).

Going by how much trouble the 390 is, I don't think it's such a brilliant idea to plonk two of those engines in one machine! Sure it'll wheelie in every gear, sure it'll break the tonne faster than PSLV, and sure it'll bring you closer to death quicker than you would want, but I would much prefer an unrefined adventure bike than an unrefined crotch rocket.

Where does it mention the fact it is 2 390 blocks fused together? As I read it is a brand new parallel twin motor from KTM. It would have made sense to use the 390 blocks for a v-twin format but not for a 11-twin.

I know. That post made me smile

Comparing a BIG single to a P-twin, passing a judgement on the characteristics of the motorcycle without as much as laying eyes on it; forget swinging a leg over it

Wonder why these machines are considered exotic the world over

It didn't, I used the 2 engine thing more like a figure of speech

The point I was trying to make was KTMs are not known for refinement, and that I would personally prefer them to bring something in the adventure segment to India rather than the street.

Hello guys,
I am in the UK now and the latest issue of MCN is running a story on this bike - KTM Duke 800 with clear pictures and great tech details.
Wondering if I can post some images from the article if it does not infringe any copyrights.

Found a link to this story: Read here.
But the newspaper contains some more stuff.

Regards,
Hiren

If you post the source and give them credits it should go down fine.
