Harley-Davidson has issued a voluntary recall for 3,698 units of the Street 750 model over a faulty fuel pump inlet.

This recall is a part of a global exercise that covers the 2015 Street family of motorcycles that were manufactured this year. The XG750 model from the family is available in India.

The vehicles recalled have been manufactured between February 24, 2014, and July 15, 2015 at Harley-Davidson's plant in Bawal, Haryana. The company has said that some of the bikes may have a poor seal at the fuel pump inlet.

Harley-Davidson's dealers will notify customers to bring their motorcycles in for inspection. The faulty seal will be replaced by the company at no cost to the customer.

And I thought the recall would be for those brake issues that all Street 750 owners seem to be facing, this is new!

Thought the same, especially since Harley just announced some updates to the Street 750 braking system earlier this week.

It looks like the brake issue will most likely be a paid upgrade. You pay if you want better brakes. Since most of us want better brakes, I am sure HD would be selling these upgrade kits at a premium. Anyway, there is no news from HD on the brakes though and they haven't notified existing customers on the options of an upgrade if needed.

Sounds like something Harley would do! The 2016 lineup seems extensively upgraded though, so that's a positive. At least they aren't proudly carrying on the tradition of not improving a thing unlike some of their desi counterparts
