Re: My 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Congratulations! Always happy to see a biker get his ride.
A perfect balance of sports and touring. Very usable power, less peaky power band, comfortable riding position, luggage capacity and smashing looks. Pretty much a complete package.
@dkaile - Normal fuel from a good pump works just fine. The bike will run a little harsh with increased vibes but other than that its all good.

The issue with the aliexpress rad guard which i have as well is that the central mesh portion is extremely flimsy. This is connected to a frame. The ones from cox racing etc are a single piece unit, and the whole thing is extremely well built.

If theres a very strong hit, that mesh bit might puncture easily. Its just not the best material construction.

I would pay the money for a proper radiator guard.

Re: My 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Congrats Ashroy! Loved reading your thread. The N1000 for its price is extremely VFM and comes with good safety equipment. Wish they could add these bits to the Z models also. Love the colour on your N, looks better than the Z800 black and very discreet.

Although regular fuel is not bad for your bike, I would still recommend sticking to the fuel that Kawasaki has mentioned - 95+ - if it is available. The ride is much more smoother trust me.

Congrats once again and ride safe Ashroy!

A comparison of the current and previous N1000.

Hi,

Regret delay in response as i was busy with month end.

Bike is doing fantastic. I have recently completed 1000 kms so now due for 1st service. Actually i had got the oil and oil filter changed at 100 kms roughly so technically this will be my 2nd oil change.

Gear changing is now happening now at 6000-7000 rpm and its a monster in that range...so smooth and fast. After 1000 km service will probably open up the bike even thou it is recommended to not exceed 6000 rpm till 1600 kms.

But overall its a hoot to ride.

Accessories added are only a tank pad and traction pads (which came off due to bad quality).

I will share the pic tomorrow.

Chaio for now

Re: My 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Hi,
Last week got the tank pad from aliexpress. The quality looks good although i would have liked if the green lines were bright, but i guess overall its good and serves its purpose.

Yeah I also saw the same Kawasaki tank pad here but rs/- 6800 seemed quite high. It was very hard for me to resist as from Aliexpress, i got my tank pad for a messily Rs. 350/-.

I don't know why Kawasaki is selling such small things for such a high cost as the quality of the aliexpress one is also quite good.

My personal experience after riding N1000, i feel tank traction pads are any day more useful than tank pads as they give proper traction for you to grip the tank with your legs while riding plus also saves the tanks from getting scratched if you are wearing knee guards.

Nothing wrong in going for the oem accessories but i would definitely recommend seeking alternative places also, as the price difference is huge.

Would recommend going through our senior members, mobike and dkaile threads which have tons of reviews of stuff ordered though Aliexpress and other foreign sites.

Well, I had messaged the seller on that and he assured me that it will fit our model year perfectly otherwise he will give full refund. Also saw these knee pads at Kawasaki today @4350/-. Exorbitant as hell and definitely not worth the money -

Re: My 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Congratulations on the awesome bike. It is an extremely VFM package from Kawasaki. Since your bike is still new and in black, might I suggest a 3M PPF coating for that tank. It is a transparent coating, like mobile lamination. It provides quite good protection, keeps the original gloss of the paint, and gives you peace of mind whenever any bystanders come to admire your bike; because invariably they tend to touch the tank .
All those tank pads you can stick on top of that film for added protection.
Have applied it to my Versys tank, and it still has that original gloss even after 1.5 yrs.

Re: My 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Please accept my heartiest congratulations on your new ride. In fact i was also in the process of looking for one abet a pre worshiped one since quiet some time. Came to know that due to the character of the bike hardly anyone want to part with it. Finally did lay my hands on a 2016 model (though registered in May 17) last week only. Not wasting any time and after all the required back ground checks finally bought it a few days back. In fact i was surprised to find hardly any posts about this machine (compared to others) on this platform. Keen to hear more feedback from you in the near future.
Cheers

Re: My 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 1000

Hi again. Was hoping some movement on this thread, hardly any inputs. Just one question if u happen to see ur thread. How are the frame sliders which u installed and if i may...how much do they cost (I think from the shape as i see they are Puig). I unfortunately dont have the new 1000 but i recently picked up a pre worshiped 2016 model.
