Limited Edition Norton Dominator & Commando launched in India

Motoroyale has launched the limited edition Norton Commando and Dominator in India. The bikes are priced at Rs. 20.99 lakh and Rs. 23.70 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

Only 18 units of the Dominator and 19 units of the Commando will be available. Each bike will have the customer's name engraved on it and will also get a special number allocated to them. Additionally, the Dominator gets an aluminium tank with a hand-painted British flag on the rear seat cowl. The Commando gets an all-black finish with a hand-painted Union Jack on the fuel tank.

Both bikes are powered by a 961cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine that produces 70 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 67 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The limited edition Norton Dominator and Commando will be made to order and will be delivered 60 days after the order is placed.

Wow! They have the bikes on display at the Motoroyale showroom here in Chennai, where I saw them yesterday. The Dominator with its curvy, unpainted fuel tank, and generous helpings of carbon fibre looked simply exquisite! The Commando was pretty neat as well. The sales person there was also kind enough to start up and rev the Dominator for me. Day made

Its fair to say that all three bike launches last 24 hours have had watering price tags. Mouth watering for the Jawa and RE twins and eye watering for the norton. LOL.

I simply do not understand who will see the value in this pricing when you can get similar pedigree and spec Bonneville range from triumph at almost half the price.

Are they even serious in selling these machines? Makes sense for someone who is looking at collecting Norton and showing them off in a shelf. Maybe its a ploy to get some marketing done before they go mass production of a watered down product.
