So i have started to use the fornt brakes, earlier they were as good as alien to me, been overly cautious too, make sure i brake from far far away.
Am at work again, on a sunday, wonder what brings me here on a second consecutive holiday, the workload or the motorcycle, lol

In the last couple of days, i have been asked those regular questions about average, modded or orginal etc, and yes the solid/nice bike compliments as well. Thankfully i havent come across any of those who wanna race at every traffic light er all.
The pay and park guy around my office turns out to be knowledgable, he passed it off as an import after counting the number of cylinders!!

The ride to work seems ok, mainly because its a sunday, and the last time i rode here was dya before, republic day. But nothing can possibly stop our cabbies wanting to move from a standstill to take a 'U' turn without looking at the RVMs. But it surely feels awesome to go through the parked cars at a light to comeout right aheda of it all, and take off in first before i scare myself silly and mellow down.

update: got the tyre pressures checked this evening, and they were way below the required levels, set the same to 36 in the front and 41 for the rear, and it all feels a lot better now.

and, i ve been trying to spot the coolant lid for the motorcycle sinc e a couple of days, but just cant seem to manage that!! anyone knows the location of that? or, i ll just let the mech take care of that too when the bike goes to him this week!!

Manson, you own a nice bike now, time to get to know it better. Best place to start is by reading the owners manual and the service manual. Ofcourse, its always better to buy them (they go as cheap at 10$ on ebay) as the people who take the effort to write them also need to be supported, but thanks to the internet, there are various sites set up by thunderace owners that explain things in detail.

Take a look at The Yamaha YZF1000 ThunderAce which will give you everything you need to know about your bike.

Have you considered Pirellis? Although Bridgestones last longer, hard compound tyres on a 200 kg+ bike ain't exactly that sweet to ride in the monsoons. Michelins are good as well. You might wanna consider replacing the front pads and the throttle cable as well, perhaps..

Well, do you remember when Ishan popped the throttle and the engine died? I tried revving her the second time, and the throttle felt stiff. Far more than, say, a Fireblade-or a Busa's.

Just check out the pads and the cable at the next tune up....and do remember to replace those tyres before the monsoons...

I would personally advice you not to ride during the monsoons. Not because of the danger involved but because you shouldnt subject the bike to that kind of weather if you want it to stay with you for a while. Store during the monsoons, just as we store during the summers here.
