A very American motorcycle this FTR 1200 S, both in terms of how it looks and rides. It draws its inspiration from those flat track races that Indian competed in in the 50's.

Definitely a special motorcycle from India but unfortunately I dont see this selling in a country obsessed with either the liter class category or those ugly metal monstrosities.

This is an absolutely stunning bike. Now all they need to do is launch a showroom though.

In Mumbai they were between showrooms for the longest time and now that they finally have one I think its all the way at Turbhe (if at all, I could be wrong!)

Nothing about Mumbai on their website as yet. Though if they are going as far out as Turbhe might as well make a dirt/flat track next to the showroom to draw the purists in.
Will definitely be a better marketing pitch for the FTR than putting up some outdoor media or parking the bike in a mall.

Re: Indian FTR 1200 S launched at Rs. 15.99 lakh

I test rode the FTR 1200 today. The bike is seriously impressive. Power delivery is super smooth right from 1st gear. The suspesion is quiet plush and composed even on our "roads". I could not go very fast but I suppose top end would be too much for anyone. The bike appears big in photos but is medium in size and easily maneuverable.
The only problem I though was the heat. It is not very hot in Pune right now but the engine did heat up a lot. And the silencers look butt ugly. They really need to improve something there.
Overall a fantastic bike but 18 lakhs on road is very tough sell in India.

Does Pune have Indian motorcycles dealer ? I am asking this since it is not listed in their dealers on their website.

Indeed Biking Superstore has Indian dealership for Pune. He used to be UM dealer previously. But I am not sure if he has started operation yet for Indian. A friend works in Biking tours/promotions/etc and he had got the FTR for couple of days.
