It does seem to have quite a dearth of ground clearance.

However this bike will anyway be a lifestyle purchase by a lucky few, who may already have a big-bike or two in their garage. It seems to be intended as a halo product (going by the price point), thus we can ignore the impractical ground clearance and continue to ogle at the striking beauty of this machine.

Finally a Harley which looks modern and desirable (looks are a personal/subjective aspect, and no offence meant. Harley fans, please resist picking up those pitchforks. Me apologizes in advance). They seem to have moved away from the bulky design language and it's good for the future of the company. Bikes are bought purely based on design and appeal to the heart, good to see Harley moving in the right direction.

This is going to be a very expensive bike to own if it ever makes it to our shores.
And that is going to be a major obstacle for HD to overcome in a market like India. Having said this, they will find a few takers for this here.

@Goblue - This is indeed a 'modern' motorcycle from 'Hardly Abelson' .

If I'm asked to give one sentence to summarize - "Expected price is Sky high and Motor is down to Earth!"

Otherwise, The 15.5 kWh Battery, 116Nm torque, 78kW power...it'll be a hoot to ride. Then the 7 ride modes, fully adjustable shocks, air cooling, liquid cooling for electronics, CCS charging, it's loaded. It looks so sexy too.

The future is definitely not boring.

It sure is -

I believe Harley is keeping the price high since this is just a brand flagship for now. When the technology becomes mainstream - they should be able to price newer versions much lower in terms of market positioning.

Re: The Harley-Davidson LiveWire, unveiled in India

The bike is doing a dealership tour through India, it's at Bison Harley in Bangalore today. Dealerships are inviting their HOG members to view and sit on it. They've set it up with a roller so that you can rev up the bike while stationary.

It's definitely not what comes to mind when you think of a Harley. On the roller, the electric acceleration is instant. Like hemanth.anand said, it should be a hoot to ride.

Re: The Harley-Davidson LiveWire, unveiled in India

LiveWire is still being purchased only by traditional Harley Davidson riders. Fails to make new inroads, mostly thanks to its price tag.

A Reuters interview of 40 out of the 150 U.S dealers that carry the bike shows that more sales are coming from current Harley owners and older riders.

Re: The Harley-Davidson LiveWire, unveiled in India

Production and sales stopped. Charging issues suspected -

Quote:
Harley Davidson LiveWire, the company’s first electric motorcycle has run into problems and production has been stopped. Though the company has not revealed the exact issue at the moment, they have said that it is vital enough to stop all further production and delivery of the electric motorcycle.
Quote:
The problem appears to be related to charging and the company has asked current owners to only charge the $30,000 electric LiveWire at company dealerships. This shows that there could be an issue with charging the bike via lower voltage outlets in homes and a problem with final quality checks

If it doesn't look like a CRUISER... if it doesn't sing POTATO-POTATO.. and to top it off, if it SMOOTH.

Can it be a HARLEY?
