The KTM 790 Adventure has been spotted on Indian roads.
The 790 Adventure was unveiled at EICMA 2018. In the international market, the 790 Adventure is available in three versions - Standard, 790 Adventure R and R Rally. The bike seen here is on Austrian number plates and is fitted with panniers.
The 790 Adventure is powered by a 799cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 94 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 88 Nm @ 6,600 rpm. It comes with telescopic fork suspension and a monoshock at the rear. It has twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc at the rear. The bike rides spoke wheels shod with off-road tyres.
The KTM 790 Adventure is expected to compete with the Triumph Tiger 800, Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT and the BMW F750 GS.

LOL!
I think its just some dude doing a RTW on his 790 adventure.
Those are Austrian plates, so its most likely some guy riding around the world.
Yes, most probably someone touring. KTM HQ based in Mattighofen, Braunau am Inn - would ideally have registration starting with BR.
This one starts with S - Salsburg. So probably a Salsburg due touring :)
Got this as a whatsapp forward from internal biking group:
Does this have a different engine from 790 Duke? Does this not have any problems with Euro 5/ BS VI?
Since the KTM Duke 790 was not upgraded to Euro 5 / BS6, how is it possible that KTM will launch the Adv 790 in India? KTM's Duke 790 has been criticized by the international motorcycling media for its quality issues and it is widely known that the Duke 890 was the improved and upgraded version of the 790.
I would assume that the Fast Bikes guys spotted the 890 Adventure being tested and wrongly assumed that it is the 790.
It would make a lot more sense that they launch the 890 Adventure. My only hope is that the 890 Adventure R will come as that's the version that was the bigger global success and much more differentiated and interesting compared to other ADVs currently available.
Chances are we will get the tame standard version only though.
Waiting eagerly for this bike. Hope the electronics aren't goofy in any manner whatsoever like the 390 ADV was. This bike has the potential to set the cash registers ringing for Bajaj and KTM if marketed and priced right.
790 was not bs6 compliant right? Did they update the engine?
I had high hopes on CB500X which was priced too high for what it offers. Hope the ckd route 790 adv will be priced competitively.

The Duke 790 Bs4 was priced around 8.5l when it was launched. So this might be 10 - 11l or maybe more.
Any news on when Ktm India plan 790/890 adventure?
