Kawasaki teases supercharged streetfighter - Z H2

Kawasaki Motors just dropped in this teaser earlier today - clearly showcasing a supercharger and their 'Z' branding - hinting at an upcoming supercharged streetfighter from the Kawasaki stable.

With the Z1000 being one of the oldest machines in their stable, the new machine is likely to be a new Z1000 with the motor based on the supercharged H2. The new model might be an addition to their supercharged range consisting of the sporty H2 and the sports touring H2 SX.

While no further details are available in the teaser - the timelines should suggest a full reveal next month at either Tokyo, or Intermot or EICMA shows coming up!

Well, some international publications like MCN speculate it could be the 'Z'1000SX, or in other words - the new Ninja 1000

re: Kawasaki teases supercharged streetfighter - Z H2

Just a random thought -

If Kawa was to plonk a super-charger on the next Generation ZX10, will it make the bike ineligible for WSbk?

Coming to the Z, its nice to see Kawasaki taking the H2 script to other formats. I doubt they'll put one on the Ninja 1000 since they already have a super-charged tourer with the H2 SX. A naked supercharged streetfighter Z1000 sounds yummy on the other hand though. Specially with that short ratio gearbox which makes the bike such a hooligan even now.

I wish they dont price it out of majority's reach the way the H2 family presently is in the country.

re: Kawasaki teases supercharged streetfighter - Z H2

So it looks like the quad projector LED setup is gone? That's a shame, considering how menacing it made the Z1000 look. It gave the bike a unique identity. The shift from Z800 to Z900 had mellowed down the sugomi styling, and if given a choice, I'd choose the Z800 over the Z900 anyday. This new motorcycle seems to be following the same path. But the instrument cluster does look cool.

Attaching a picture from motoroids page for reference on how cool the projectors can be. for the full story, click https://www.motoroids.com/features/b...ence-day-ride/

What a beautiful yet menacing looking machine, love the details on every inch. It would fit right into a near futuristic sci-fi movie, all it needs are laser guided turrets on the side. Watching the video I was fully expecting it to flare out and assemble itself into an Autobot, too bad it didn't.

Look exciting. I love to see this package trickle down to the Z900 which looks 2 generations behind its competition especially on the electronics.

re: Kawasaki teases supercharged streetfighter - Z H2

I find it quite odd, the overall design. Nothing that looks special.

On the other hand, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 has got me drooling not just for looks, but even more power than this supercharged boat.

Disappointed with the design after all the hype around it. This looks tamer than even the z900! Somehow seems to have more like a quarter fairing than being a proper naked. The z 1000 still in my eyes is the best looking naked motorcycle ever. While that made your jaw drop everytime u saw it, this makes one scratch their head as to what Kawasaki were thinking.

The price is out. Z H2 is priced at $17k in the US.

Some other prices for comparison -
Ninja 1000 - $12,199
ZX10R - $15,399
Versys 1000 LT - $18k
H2SX - $25k
H2 - $29k.

Even more power - yes. But this would have brutal mid-range! Even the H2 makes only 210PS but all reviewers say it is mental because of the mid-range.

I don't find the Streetfighter V4 that beautiful, but it is any day better than the Z H2 though! Kawasaki should have retained or given evolutionary touches to the Z1000 styling!

That said - both these don't compete directly, be it the nature of the motorcycles or the price. The Streetfighter V4 range is from $19,995 to $23,995 which is way more expensive than the Z H2.
