What utter nonsense these rushlane guys spew. An automatic gearbox is only available on the following models globally. Scroll all the way down.

500x will come with a regular 6 speed manual gearbox.

I think at that price, it will be a non starter. Globally, the CB500X is seen as a competitor to the Adventure 390. Many comparison videos that I’ve seen on YouTube favour the Duke. And yet, they price it almost in Versys 650 territory.

Yes you are right. CB500X is expected to be around 5-6L ex showroom. I love this bike for the clean and simple look with very reliable engine which is in the international market since almost a decade. But if this is priced very near to Versys, am not sure who the target customer will be.

1. A customer who wants better suspension comfort over the 390 adventure

2. Someone who wants more sitting space over the KTM

3. Someone who wants Honda service and spares over Kawasaki’s iffy service and pricey spares (ditto BMW)

4. The Honda will be noticeably lighter than the Kawasaki Versys

5. Engine reliability and overall no fuss motorcycle when compared to the KTM

6. A brand new launch in India over the dated Versys which has already been here for 5 years with different sticker jobs

7. Brand Honda Fans

8. More power than the GS310, better wind protection from the body and wind shield than the 390 adventure, makes it the best of both worlds for a bit more money.

9. The Honda has an extremely accessible 810 mm seat height, just 10 mm more than the Himalayan. The KTM is 855 and the Versys is at 840 on a good day. Many are turned off with this alone.

10. The Honda will hold its value way better than the KTM And the Kawasaki over many years.

I have been wanting to get some clarity on this aspect ever since CB300R came and then the new CB350 and CB350RS came. Never got to asking. Is there a possibility that the service can be carried out in non "Big Wing" dealers/service. At least the regular ones like Chain service and Oil change etc?

This breaks my heart. I was hoping they could have some service technician to non premium dealerships on appointment basis at least to make it accessible for a larger group of rider. I thought that is what Yamaha used to do for servicing of its premium bikes. (Which of course are no longer there)

Interesting days ahead. Cb500x and 2022 ktm490 adv are the much needed adventure bike for current Indian market.

False news as always. It was the 1290 Super Adventure R.

Don't forget the awesome fuel efficiency figures. It delivers an astonishing 75mpg @ 75mph!!. That's around 34kpl @ 120kph. The figures are even higher if you maintain a lower cruise speed.

Also it has a very low stressed , low compression engine. Which means it can run on any fuel and in general have a long service life.

Wonder if honda will bring it this year as promised.

The CB500X is supposed to be launched this month according to GaadiWaadi.com.

https://gaadiwaadi.com/exclusive-hon...or-this-month/

I hope they do bring this one to India. I am looking to upgrade in the next year or so, this would be a decent upgrade. Adequate power to cruise at 100 km/h, decent reliability and practically no vibes (none compared to the bult 500 )

Launched at 6.87 lakhs. Good luck Honda selling even double digits in few years at this price. Now Versys makes more sense and VFM compared to this bike. Pricing is a dampener for all those waiting for this one. On Road price will take it more than 8 lakhs and the KTM 390 Adventure is a better buy than this bike instead.

Featured on the website as well. Comes in two colors, black and "Grand prix" red. Specs look good.
As said, pricing is a turn off for sure.

Re: Rumour: Honda to launch Rebel 500, CB500X, CBR500R & CB500F

Wow I did not expect 6.87 lakhs in my wildest dreams :P

I was expecting a price between 5l (unlikely but more of a hope) to 5.5l (decent pricing but was the most likely in my eyes) to max 6l (OK value but still acceptable). 6.87 lakhs for a bike with Interceptor levels of performance is a bit hard to digest considering this is primarily a highway tourer and the Versys 650 at just 10k more is so much better VFM except in the servicing part where Honda is king.

But its hard to justify the price of this bike when the Versys makes 40% more power and 42% more torque when the Honda has little advantages like better instrumentation and LED lighting. After adding adjustable suspension, better brakes and a whole plethora of 3rd party after market accessories to the Versys advantages and the Honda just seems completely overpriced in comparison.

Honda seems to have lost the plot in India for most of it's recent launches. Such a good bike at such a atrocious pricing. Even the KTM 390 Adventure beats it hands down at half the price not to talk of the 20 hp more Versys 650 at the same price.

Looks like Honda is helping Kawasaki and KTM sell their bikes better. Sad.

Cheers...
