BMW S1000 / R1200 - Brake caliper leak

I'm surprised this topic hasn't found its way on the forum yet, because although I just found it recently, it's been reported months ago and on multiple models.

The Hayes made front brake calipers now used on late model BMW motorcycles have been reported by many owners to leak brake fluid, in some cases damaging the finish on their alloy wheels, including some carbon fiber wheels that some owners also got replaced under warranty, apart from the calipers. But as the numbers rise, quite a few European owners expressed unhappiness at both the availability of the replacement calipers, and how they were treated by BMW customer care and dealers.

First 3 images from BMW S1000RR forum.
Similar issues reported with the R1250 GS/A.

Not all R1200/1250 models are affected, the R1200R and R1200RS use the old Brembo calipers (perhaps not the same M50 caliper under recall for some Triumph and Aprilia models).

Last picture taken by yours truly - I was truly astonished by the finish on the welding, it looks hideous and felt very unworthy for an otherwise premium bike.
