Harley-Davidson Custom 1250 details leaked, according to the documents submitted to the US NHTSA confirms the Custom 1250 will be called the Sportster S.



Harley-Davidson Sportster S will be powered by a modified version of the Pan America’s liquid-cooled DOHC 1252cc engine, with a claimed 121 hp.

At a claimed 121 hp, the Sportster S produces less power than the Pan America, which claims 150 hp. This is likely due to the Sportster S being tuned for more mid-range torque. It’s unclear if the Sportster S engine will also have variable valve timing.

Harley-Davidson officially announces the 2021 Sportster S on July 13.

Also, it supposedly weighs lesser than 230kg

2021 Harley Davidson Sportster S revealed.

The new sport custom motorcycle is built on Harley’s Revolution Max platform and is powered by a liquid-cooled 1250cc Revolution Max 1250T V-twin engine that makes 121 HP and 127 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch.



There are a total of 5 riding modes (3 pre-programmed – Sport, Road, Rain – and 2 custom modes) on offer, along with cruise control, with the bike that has a 11.7-litre fuel tank and weighs 227.7 kg (wet).



The lighting units of the Harley-Davidson Sportster S are all LEDs, while the instrumentation is a round 4.0-inch TFT screen that supports Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.



In terms of suspension, the Sportster S gets fully adjustable 43 mm Showa inverted forks upfront and a Showa piggyback reservoir rear shock with pre-load adjustment.



The motorcycle has a 320 mm front disc with Brembo radial 4-piston caliper and a 260 mm rear disc clamped by a 2-piston Brembo caliper.



The Sportster S is equipped with a 6-axis IMU that controls the bike’s safety tech such as Cornering Enhanced Antilock Braking System (C-ABS), Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS) with Front-Wheel Lift Mitigation (FLM), Cornering Enhanced Drag-Torque Slip Control System (C-DSCS) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

An 11 litre fuel tank on a sporty cruiser with such a big engine!!

Not sure why Harley can't design a bit more useful fuel tank. I understand the design aspect, but there has got to be some solution to this. In a country like US, you probably wouldn't reach even to the other end of a mid tier city without refueling.

With a 13L tank on the Interceptor, which goes about 28 km per 102 Rs., I can understand how frustrating that would be. Take 2L of that capacity for fuel pump protection, that leaves the rider with 8-9 odd useful litres. Very annoying indeed !

This event is on another level altogether. The history, riders, location, design is off the charts IMHO. Looks like Harley will make a killing selling the Sportster. The loaded technological safety nets are quite welcome and are certainly helping Harley establish itself amongst the motorcycling giants of the world.

I’m the last person who’s a Harley fan by any stretch (typically wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole) but I’ll be the first to admit - this Sportster S here looks DROP DEAD STUNNING! The specs look great too. If they can retail this under 12/13 lakh on road it’ll definitely have its share of takers.

How relevant are these in the Indian standpoint though anymore? Is there even a proper showroom still? Has Hero Group taken over the retail function yet?

Well going by what I can pick up from my (ex) HOG groups, they have mostly picked up pace, atleast in Delhi. Most of the showrooms are functioning, although spares and repairs seem to be taking more time than usual.

Agreed on the first part, it does look stunning, and boy is it equipped! Makes all other softails look like jokes now. Finally a Harley with the beans and the stance although i keep wondering what they were thinking when they gave a beast like a single front disc!! This might end up having the same sob story like other harley's in the braking dept.

Yes even I was disappointed on reading that (check out the MotoBob YouTube overview on the Sportster S - it has some hilarious comments on this part of his review).

I never understand why they could get so much right and then leave something so blatantly silly out there. This is the top of the line sportster. They should treat it as such.

I think I am the only odd one out here who thinks there is no pillion seat, even if they are selling as accessory it won't look nice
