The two new MV Agusta ADVs will come under the brand's Lucky Explorer Project. While no official details about the motorcycles have been revealed, it is being said that they could be powered by a newly developed 950cc, 3-cylinder engine.

Some of the expected features of the upcoming MV Agusta ADVs include a 21-inch front wheel, long-travel suspension, metal skid plate, radial front brake calipers, relaxed rider ergonomics and split seats. Re: MV Agusta to showcase two new ADV bikes at EICMA 2021

MV Agusta has presented two new ADV motorcycles at EICMA 2021. The smaller capacity model is called the 5.5 whereas the larger capacity bike has been named the 9.5.

MV Agusta 5.5

MV Agusta has developed this model in collaboration with QJ Motors - Benelli's parent company. The 5.5 features a dual-headlamp setup, LED DRLs, knuckle guards, dual-purpose tyres, a rear luggage rack and a side-mounted exhaust. It also has a 20-litre fuel tank, a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel.

Powering the MV Agusta 5.5 is a 554cc, parallel-twin engine that generates 52 Nm of peak torque. It is a reworked version of the same motor that we have already seen on the Benelli TRK 502, Leoncion 500, and 502C. It is capable of churning out 46.8 BHP.

MV Agusta 9.5

Being the larger capacity model, the 9.5 uses a newly developed 930cc, inline 3-cylinder engine that makes 121 BHP and 102 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. There is also the automatic Rekluse clutch system that MV Agusta offers with the Turismo Veloce.

Some of the key features of the MV Agusta 9.5 include electronically controlled Sachs suspension, twin 320 mm front disc brakes with Brembo Stylema calipers, 7-inch TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity options.

In terms of electronics, the adventure motorcycle has launch control, 8-level traction control, cruise control, GPS, etc. The bike uses a 21-inch/19-inch wheel setup and tips the scale at 220 kg (dry).

MV Agusta 9.5!?

Besides the fact that the bike looks inspired from the Africa Twin (including the front design), “9.5”!

The Italians were never known to lack imagination. Clearly the times have changed

Re: MV Agusta to showcase two new ADV bikes at EICMA 2021

If the 5.5 ever gets launched in India, it will be priced in oblivion. TRK 502 would be a no brainer pick, not only they seem to be sharing the same power terrain, the service network of benelli is far better in India then MV.

That said probably it would never come here anyway.

And as pointed above what stupid naming convention!!

The bike is the re-birth of the old Cagiva Elefant Lucky Explorer, which won several Dakar rallies back in the 1990s and was THE adv bike to have.

CAGIVA owned MV. 30 yrs later MV owns the Cagiva brand and brought back the Elefant Lucky Explorer.

The Africa Twin was a copy of the Cagiva when Honda entered the ADV market in late 90s.

It's great that both bike manufacturers have used each others bikes as design inspirations.

Aprilia has done a brilliant design job with the Taureg. Was looking forward to a similar refreshing design language from MV. After all, MV is known for it's unique/breathtaking designs. Although, it is a huge compliment to Honda that MV is taking inspiration from them for it's return to the ADV segment.

This MV 9.5 would probably go up against the refreshed Triumph Tiger 1200 which is expected to be launched as a MY2022 model.
