Echo.

I took my wife out on a 60 km ride (albeit in city traffic in mid-afternoon heat) on my old Pulsar 180 after we got married. This was to assess whether she might enjoy touring, and the trial by coincidence just happened to have all of the worst elements of touring thrown in. The answer was a clear no. She's happy doing the short jaunts to the neighbourhood shopping centre or movie theatre, but prefers the comfort of the car for all of our family vacations.

So I had zero qualms in picking up the Z900 for my intended use case of the daily commute + 3-5 day rides/year + 1-2 short multi-day rides/year.

I have toured quite a bit on my Z800 and filled up on 91 RON and havent faced any issues.

I would expect Z900 to do so as well. Just try not to fill up on shady looking fuel stations.

Did you finalize anything or hunt is still on?

Anyone who rode BS6 Z900 filled with RON91 petrol, please share your experience.

Is this really a major concern these days?

IndianOil has made XP95 available to ~40% of their network. Could even spot bunks with XP95 in hill stations like Coonoor and Ooty. The price difference between XP95 and regular petrol is rather minimal too. If you still have concerns around the availability of fuel in any specific area - use https://associates.indianoil.co.in/PumpLocator/ to find the list of bunks in the area where it also shows which all bunks have XP95 available.

Thanks a ton guys.

Picked up the z and completed the 1st service in a week. Went for a 1200 km run the 5th day of picking up the bike. It's a bliss and i grin every time i look at her.

I made the right choice, thanks to you all.

It’s “your mileage may vary”. This is exactly why these short forms should not be used since a lot of people may not understand them besides being irritating for the reader.

Cheers

It's been 6 months. Do let us know your feedback of the bike so far.

Depends on the road we take. Riding is all about freedom, isn’t it?

Hi, congratulations on your Z! Have you ever faced idle RPM dropping issue on your bike? There’s a lot of hearsay across the web regarding this issue, particularly on the Z900.

Just saw your message, sorry for the late reply.

Nope, have not faced this issue since my first service. There were idle RPM issues in the first 1 month of purchase but the first service fixed it.

The only issue I face is the traction control sometimes malfunctions, but now for the past 6 months, that issue too got resolved from the last service as it something related to throttle body not closing properly.

I've had my Z900 for about a year and a half, and I couldn't be happier with it.

It serves as my regular transport for commuting to work every day, but the real thrill comes from those late Sunday night rides. These are solitary 100+ km journeys, with just me, my Z900, and the softly illuminated streets at night.

One feature I particularly appreciate is the KRTC, which provides a significant confidence boost when it comes to having some fun in rainy conditions.

I've embarked on two substantial rides that really stand out. The first was a round trip from Chennai to Goa, a journey that took slightly less than 12.5 hours one way. Aside from needing to stop frequently for XP95 fuel, the ride was trouble-free and incredibly enjoyable. Despite some initial doubts due to my age, I didn't feel exhausted at all, even managing to enjoy a party on the night I arrived in Goa.

The second notable journey was a 1400 km day trip to and from Thoothukudi, starting from Chennai. Apart from these two major rides, I've enjoyed several shorter weekend trips, racking up a total of about 9000 km on the odometer.

Admittedly, I've given in to temptation a few times and performed a couple of enthusiastic burnouts, a choice which is likely to impact my wallet with the imminent need for a rear tyre replacement.

On the modification front, I've made a few tweaks, specifically adding some extra cushioning to the seat, fitting a windshield, and installing basic safety accessories.

Few Photographs,
