Harley-Davidson has confirmed that it will launch the Sportster S in India at IBW 2021. The latest edition of the India Bike Week is scheduled to take place on December 4-5 in Aamby Valley, Maharashtra.



The Harley-Davidson Sportster S was globally revealed earlier this year. It is powered by the 1,252cc, Revolution Max, V-twin engine that is capable of producing 119 BHP and 114 Nm. For the transmission, there is a 6-speed gearbox accompanied by a slipper clutch. This is the same engine that also powers the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250.

Some of the other features on the Harley-Davidson Sportster S include dual exhausts, fat tyres, fully adjustable USD forks at the front, mono-shock at the rear, bar-end mirrors and a 320 mm front and a 260 mm rear disc brake.



As for the electronics, the Sportster S has four riding modes - Road, Sport, Rain and Custom - along with Cornering Enhanced ABS (C-ABS) and a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU). It also features a tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control and traction control.

Harley-Davidson Sportster S deliveries start

Harley-Davidson launched the Sportster S in India at the 2021 IBW. Now, the company has started the deliveries of its latest offering in the country.

The Harley-Davidson Sportster S is powered by the brand's Revolution Max engine that made its debut with the Pan America 1250. The 1,252cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine on the Sportster S makes 119 BHP and 114 Nm.



The suspension setup on the Sportster S includes a pair of fully adjustable USD front forks and a mono-shock at the rear. For the brakes, there is a single 320 mm front rotor at the front and a 260 mm rotor at the back.

Other features include a 4-inch TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, a 6-axis IMU, traction control, cornering ABS, ride modes, cruise control, TMPS and full-LED lighting.

The Harley-Davidson Sportster S retails at Rs 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in three colours options - Vivid Black, Stone Washed White Pearl and Midnight Crimson.

I’ve never been a fan of Harleys - still am not. But this Sportster S is literally the most exquisitely gorgeous thing on two wheels that I have seen in a long time.

Not sure how people will get confidence plonking 19-20 big ones on this though with Harley practically having left the country and Hero running the show. I also think something like this should ideally cost less than 14 -15L “on road”. At best.

Harley-Davidson Sportster S completes 24-Hours Endurance Test in India.

The 24 hours endurance test was flagged off by Ravi Avalur, Head, Harley-Davidson Business Unit at Hero MotoCorp.

A team of five riders undertook the 24 hours endurance ride challenge. 3,141 km was covered in 24 hours at the test track at Hero's CIT, Jaipur. The team went through 31 pit stops, averaging 130.9 kmph.
