Checked out the Desert X at the Rome Ducati showroom two weeks ago. It is utterly gorgeous in the flesh. The seat height in stock EU spec at 875 mm is definitely REALLY tall for many of us. Let’s see how the India spec turns out - whether they bring in just the low seat (which drops 10 mm) or get it in low suspension guise as well. Of course, the second is a double edged sword as it’s likely to temper its off road creds a wee bit perhaps in the interest of making it accessible to a wider set of riders - a bit like what the AT did in its post 2020 ATAS avatar.

Can’t wait to see it again here in India spec - should be at the Ducati Mumbai showroom sometime during the course of this week I reckon.

Deliveries have started, here is Vir Nakai picking up his DesertX few days back. Seat height isn't going to be a problem for him for sure.

I've been looking at ATAS and Desert x and thinking of going with latter while Honda ATAS is the only edition coming to India (based on what I heard), they may not bring in base edition. That means the ATAS would force one to get the DCT and also a bit more road biased edition with 19/17. While, I have been reading good things about the capabilities of Desert x and going over the comparison for a typical long distance and adventure riders in India.

Thank you so much. I have watched some of his videos. I shall check out other ones as well.
Btw, Desert x has a price increase for this year models. It's increased by 42K. There has been no update on the machine as such, it's just the increase for the newer production batch/year.
I've requested for the test ride, going to test the motorcycle and my compatibility over a few rough patches around and on an open highway a bit.
