Honda CBR1000RR-R price slashed by Rs. 10 lakh

Honda is coming back to its senses. Price slashed for the 'Blade by 10L. At first I thought it was a typo.

What is it with Honda. Launch a big bike at ultra high premium, then slash the price a couple of years in. Why not price it sensibly from the start. It's not as if they didn't have a competition benchmark. The Panigale, R1, and even RSV4 have been in the market at the same time.

My first thought as well. But the prices seem to have been updated on the Big Wing website too.

10 lacs 1st of April, I didn't even think any further. But when you posted this price sheet on Honda's website I checked with a journo friend and he confirmed it too. Wow, I am still finding it hard to digest it as especially wondering about the existing owners who paid the full OE amount and the kind of depreciation they are possibly looking at.

Oh yes, I didn't realise that, but big wing website too have lowered the price. Unless it is part of a very elaborate April fool's plan. It would be down right cruel then.

Those 3 who bought it at original MSRP must be pissed.

Maybe like Maruti did with Scross owners who paid high price, Honda might give some benefit for services/insurance?

Re: 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade

Why is this news now? The Honda website has been saying ~24lacs for weeks, if not months, now.

But even at 24L, Fireblade pricing in India is whacked. 24lacs? When the ZX-10R is 16? Madness. It looks really amazing though.

With Honda big bikes in India, early adopters always get the Shaft !

Despite several instances (CB500X, even the current CBR650R/ CB650R) of their initial pricing strategy failing, they continue to price well above the competition with new launches.

Re: Honda CBR1000RR-R price slashed by Rs. 10 lakh

This news had me rolling on the floor. Someone at Honda has been long under the impression that they're comparable to Ducati or even MV Agusta.

I love it when that man/woman falls off his high horse every now and then. They need to realise that they're a mass market manufacturer. Neither are their products class leading nor do they offer the snob value that they believe they do.

They're reliable and sometimes exciting. Take a look at the pricing of the CB500X or even the CBR650 twins, all of them are overpriced , underpowered and unexciting.

Re: Honda CBR1000RR-R price slashed by Rs. 10 lakh

It made no sense to buy it at that price point. But, I feel it is better late than never to correct these pricing mistakes, despite making the early adopters salty.

Kawasaki makes us think every bike is overpriced - This seems to be a decent price overall (excluding the Kawasaki outlier)

PS:- Kawasaki makes up in service costs!

No kawasaki does not make it up in service cost! I have owned the ninja 1000 and the kawasaki zx10r and the service cost is in the range of 5-8k inr for routine service. So i would like you to elaborate on what you stated sir
