re: Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, now launched at Rs.10.30 lakh

Yeah, I'm planning on taking a test ride once I'm back in Bengaluru and then decide on my pick. Even the Transalp is on the radar. Thank you.

re: Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, now launched at Rs.10.30 lakh

Pretty good pricing by Suzuki for the 800 DE considering that it comes with a bidirectional Quick Shifter as well.

10.3L ex showroom should translate to around 13.2 to 13.4L on road in BLR.

The TransAlp is 13.96L on road blr with 3 years extended warranty. The Big H always takes it's pound of flesh!

That is very good pricing indeed. They managed to undercut the direct rival T750 and the entry level Triumph and BMW ADVs. Considering the 800 is a substantial update over the 650 Strom, a 1.3-1.5L hike seems very reasonable.

Great pricing by Suzuki! I do wish they came with tubeless spoke wheels like how the 650 XT did. Tubed wheels in 2024 is an abomination!

re: Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, now launched at Rs.10.30 lakh

Very good pricing. But I am still not able to understand why are manufacturers providing tube-type tires on an ADV? How will one pull all that weight, and how roadside puncture shops will deal with premium bikes? Is there a way around this?

re: Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, now launched at Rs.10.30 lakh

As with the Transalp, this too does not come with tubeless tyres. What's the point in putting tubes in these road biased ADVs is beyond me. Nothing other than cost cutting. Simply ruining a good bike imho.

Re: Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, now launched at Rs.10.30 lakh

Anyone has an idea if the RE version of the Vstorm 800 might follow soon? This could sit below 10L, considering it is 1000 pounds lesser in the UK, and comes with tubeless alloys!

Re: Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, now launched at Rs.10.30 lakh

Had been to the Bengaluru unveil of the VStrom 800DE at Aryan Suzuki, Hoodi yesterday. Well organised function (though delayed by an hour, I was there around 1845 and it began around 1915). Our Himalayan guru Shyamg28s better half, Arun aka Bosky from Big Bear Bengaluru and his friend and copodcaster Mahesh was present for the occasion.
The bike looks like the upcoming ADV390, built like a Himalayan (21 inch front) and sounds like an Interceptor 650 due to the parallel twin. Looks great, especially the console and the increased seat height (855 mm)?and weight (232 kg) may be a concern to first time ADV owners. Some pictures of the occasion.

Re: Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, now launched at Rs.10.30 lakh

Visited Dream Suzuki, Pune for checking out the bike. I couldn't test ride it as test rides were going to be made available a day later. Would give it a try on another weekend.
Sharing a photo dump of the bike. All 3 colours were available in the showroom, photos are mix of 3 bikes.

Most appealing colour, golden rims although these aren't tubeless

The bike looks good on you!

But 95+ RON and no E20 could be a bigger bummer than not having tubeless tyres. Suzuki should clarify asap through an official note.

Oh Suzuki! The front number plate is like a wart on the unique beaky face. Far better integration in the smaller 250
