The Yamaha will be tougher to find, and in BLR under 2 for a CB400 is really hard. I hear rumours that Pune sees them for 80k. But no fear, Rtech lives in your town. Just ask him, he is the guru of bikes, faarin or desi.

You have to be very lucky to get a good 400 for that price, cos I dont see any good 400s on road anymore. You might get a bike too and it might look fine, but it may not move like a 400 should move, but still it will be plenty faster than the bikes on our roads. Just don't end up with a bike that stays in the garage more than between your legs.

No chance of getting a CB400f in that price. The cheapest ones I have seen are for 2 lacs. That too in a sad state and requiring a lot of work. rather not buy a imported bike for the price.

varun, your budget is way below what you should have for a clean 400.
However, i think a well maintained comet would make for a great first bike and would wall comfortably in the budget too.
If i was in your place i would take it from there, and gradually climb the ladder.

1 lakh and a 400cc bike. Possible, but you would need to settle for a 20 year old twin rather than a newer four. You can get a decent CB400N for around 90K. Very nice bikes. If you find a clean, well loved one, it will last you another 20 years. They have a nice sound to them as well.

But, if you just want a no-fuss bike which you can ride hard without worrying about, the Comet is your best bet at that price. Listen to blueraven, he's right when he says that you want a bike you can ride on more than work on.

CB400 N at zubin's, if its the same one i think it is, that motorcycle has not moved much in the last few years.
Did well to stand besides a CB 125 N in the owner's garage.
Varun, stick to a Comet, it will make for a much better first bike than the CB400 N.

The CB400 super four at zubin's place is clean and in fantastic condition, its freshly painted lemon yellow with matt gold wheels, superb engine, no noises from it, sweet exhaust note and it rides like a baby. Wish i had extra money to shell, would have bought it alongside my Blackbird. Lemme know if ur interested dude. You will have to increase your budget.

There's a very nice VFR400 with the Pro-Arm lying somewhere in Mumbai. It was ridden at SR 07. Any idea about that?

Kartik, the cb400 i am talking about is not a super four, this is a cb 400 n, parallel twin, an 80's bike.

Sammy, i look at the super four as a more mature rider's motorcycle. This because as usually from their first sbk, people desire the rush and image the super four may not be able to live upto.
