Axe - Ducati India may organize a pan India ride to Goa just before IBW. Check with your dealer if they are going to be a part of it.

Hey thanks. I’m riding with some friends actually - mixed lot of ADVs. To be honest, we might spend only very little time at IBW per se. Will mostly do our own thing in Goa on that Friday / Saturday.

But yes - will be good to link up with the Ducati groups AT IBW.

Re: From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023

What a fantastic and thoroughly compiled ownership review, of an equally fantastic all-rounder Ducati! Hearty congratulations to you and your better half abhi_tjet! Hope you have a wonderful ownership experience with the Multi V2 and take us along your journey with trips and updates as you used to do with the street triple earlier

I had ridden a friend's MS1260 once and it is incredible how Ducati has engineered the bike for the awesome ergonomics and sportbike-like razor sharp dynamics while on the move, despite being tall and heavy. I am sure with time, the V2 and V4 have only upped that game further.

I loved that old-school monochrome instrument console and so many other tiny details you have put up. Self-cancelling indicators - such a simple and handy feature to have. I remember having this on my erstwhile Pulsar 200 in the late 2000s, not sure why this simple feature doesn't exist on most modern (big) motorcycles nowadays. Do let us know your feedback with the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 tyres as they age.

P.S - always jealous of you Pune folks for the amazing ghat section stretches you have for enjoying these machines - case in point being Tamhini, lol!

Re: From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023

Many congratulations on this super bike. My riding buddy has the Ducati Multistrada (pronounced Mooltistrada) 950 VS and having ridden this bike a few times I came away mighty impressed with the torque and suspension. The mid range power is really good and the vast array of electronics is absolutely top-class. I hope we bump into each other on some Sunday ride around Pune and till then, ride safe.

The link is from our ride to the South (Kawasaki Ninja 1000 & Ducati Multistrada 950 S Ride to South India 2023) in Jan this year.

Thank you for the wishes AKSO, surely looking forward to meet.
And I bet you got that name right

I visited your thread when it went live since I had also done a south trip last year and visited Kodaikanal, Kanniyakumari among others. Just like you, I too stayed at TTDC, Kanniyakumari. Further, I just can't ignore a roadtrip thread having 'Mooltistrada' & Ninja 1K

Re: From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023

Amby Valley via Tamhini ride

Rode towards Amby Valley on Dussera day via Tamhini with wife as pillion. Started around 6:30 and were back by afternoon, entire ride was smooth except some exciting moments which I will detail below.

Relaxed start
From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023-img_2751.jpeg

Breakfast spot midway with home made tea and other items. It was pin drop silence except for some noise made by peacocks nearby
From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023-img_6794.jpeg

This is where things became exciting. Roads were mostly broken as soon as I leave the Tamhini route towards Amby Valley. However, just a km before ‘Tail Bail’ fork, broken roads gave way to proper trail with only stones and no road. This patch was around a km long at an incline with quite a few curves.
I was extra cautious since I was with pillion.

I successfully traversed at least 950 mts but at last curve, speed became a bit slow due to bigger stones at that area. I finally stopped the bike and asked wifey to walk a bit. Hill Hold got activated and she got down smoothly. I was in low power mode but I was worried that while revving to get started, if I didn’t get traction, rear wheel might slip and I might not be able to balance the bike on rocks.

The trail. Image is severely downplaying the actually condition

After conquering the trail

Since the festival season is going on, Happy festivities guys!

Re: From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023

Congratulations on the beauty! Marvel of engineering are the perfect words to describe the Multistrada. This is the bike which is largely responsible for my biking motivations as well. Funnily enough, I used to find it ugly as a youngster but my opinions have grown up now, haha!

Seems like I should start saving money for a Ducati right away in the hope that I'll reasonably be able to afford it a few years down the line. Wishing you endless happy and safe kilometres!

If you change the settings to Enduro and set DTC to the highest level, the rear wheel spin won't happen. The software is quite good. Try it out next time. Hopefully your beloved partner wont have to walk

Thanks for the tip. Need to try the Enduro mode beforehand once when I am without pillion.

Re: From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023

2500 kms up

Went for a leisure ride around 11 am today after observing a beautiful weather from home since morning only to find that weather god changed the plans as soon as I step out.

Sun came out though partially and made me not to stop even for pics.
So, this milestone was clicked by my better half.

Re: From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023

Finally experienced the benefits of an adv tourer during my recent ride to Madheghat. The roads were good at some point and very bad at remaining patches. I just changed the riding mode to urban(low power with more TCS), stood on the pegs and went on full send mode.

Just glad that never dared to venture here on the Street Triple.

Few pictures from the ride.

Rode to Lavasa after quite a few years. Though roads are improving, it’s still an adv territory.

Re: From Faux to Fact | My Ducati Multistrada V2 | MY 2023

3000 kms up!

Bike completed 5 months ownership recently and odo went past through 3000 kms.

It’s an absolute fun machine and changes persona as and when needed quite effortlessly.
I am just loving the experience of not giving a damn to broken patches and the fun of riding in standing position at those places.

As mentioned in my review post, I can reiterate again that bike’s suspension is sublime, it’s surprisingly fuel efficient and quite nimble as long as it’s moving.

Few clicks from recent rides -
