320km/h missile from TRiumph!

A 1275cc / 200+bhp hyper-sports bike is under development. Triumph are working on this new bike, called the Hurricane 1300, to take on the likes of the ZZR / new Busa / MV 312 etc.

Now Europian manufacturers are also consontrating on looks and speed hope so they are going to maintain their build quality for that they are known for.

The artist's impression looks mean. However, the styling seems to be more in tune with the Liter Class RRs rather than a sports tourer. The styling is more in the league of Gixxers, R1s and the CBRs rather than the Hayabusa or the ZX-14.. The last two feature distinctly long wheelbases and lower rear ride height which distinguish them as being a sports-tourer as opposed to a RR which always have higher ride height and a very stiff suspension setup which is designed to be thrashed on a race-track.

The sports-tourer design, however, enables comfortable cruising over long distances at hyper-speeds and a softer suspension setup compared to track-bred RRs. I'm sure that there would be several changes in the bike when it hits production phase.

the bike definately looks mean and capable of real high top speeds. the only thing that feel out of place are the handle bars wish they do something about it dureing production.

If all this is true, this is gonna be one hell of a bike! Can't wait for it to hit the roads.... or atleast get a look at it!

The single-sided swingarm is definitely MV. The pic is photoshopped, though. All bits & parts from here & there. Interestingly, the rear suspension is unlike any linkage I've ever seen.

Here's the catch. Althgouh the MV may have the fastest litre bike, there are no competitors to match the ZZR 14 & Busa in terms of sheer straightline thrust & top speed. We have already seen heavily done up Busa's clocking 220 MPH...and we're talking street here. There's nothing that comes close. Except the Y2K.
