At the recently concluded Moto-Austria trade show, KTM showcased its updated 690 LC4 engine, producing 79hp peak (up from 75hp).

When it goes on sale sometime this year, KTM will retake the title of the most powerful single cylinder production engine motorcycle. It would be shared with Husqvarna for it's 701 Enduro and Supermoto.

The current holder for that title is the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, producing 77.5hp peak power.

The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer, which has run into financial difficulties, does not plan to publish complete technical data for the new KTM 690 SMC R and the new KTM 690 Enduro R until "in the second quarter of 2025".

Think KTM India should consider producing this bike here at Chakan?
It could serve as a good upgrade option for 390 owners.

And I wonder why there isn't a Duke 690 anymore.
