Help needed - 883 Sportsters

Dear All,
I would to request you all to advice on the pros & cons of owning a 883 Sportsters .

I just hold of some of the problems:-
a. The maintainence as I heard is quite expensive in compasion to Bullet Classic or Suzuki Intruder.
b. There is an problem with the exhaust & gear shifting issue which develops after 2500-3000km of ride.
c.How friendly is it to on long ride (ex: 4000km drive).

Seek your advice in deciding.

A - yes
B - No
C - depends on your butt and the roads but generally OK. You will need to get off for fuel long before the ache sets in
