Dear All,
Please answer few of my queries on Maruti Gypsy.

98 model Gypsy has clocked 70K km.

Owner is quoting a value of 1.85Lakh.

Could you please let me know, is this a good price to buy.

Also let me know, What mostly I have to look into in case of Gypsy.

Thanks in adavance

Hi CarGeek,
A 98 gypsy for 1.85 lakh is way too much money. It should not be more than 1.30-1.50 and that too in mint condition. Its a king mpfi I presume?

1)1.5 is a good price.
Negotiate with money in ur hand. He'll come down.

2)There's a very high probability that its a rally gypsy. Most of these undergo torture and a lot of them have bad chassis and the bodyline will show.
See if u can take any of the bangy boys along and check her out thoroughly before U put ur money on it.

3)Although a Maruti, some spares for the gypsy are not available off-the-shelf.
They'll need to be brought down from Delhi which might take around a week.
So,beware if this is gonna be ur only car.

There was no mpfi in 1998. But 1.5Lakh is probably the right price only if it is a 1.3L engine.

Its way too high, mate. For a 1998 I think 1-1.10 max is ideal. No more than that and yeah it would not be an MPFI.
